I'm not claiming infallibility but I am a little bit irritated that it's being assumed that it would be me misreading and not seeing the errors and not the person editing the post making a mistake.

Sorry if I gave that impression- as I said above, I often find it daunting wading through a thousand-word post to find a misplaced comma.

And yes, more detail would be nice- but if in doubt, I'd always go with "skip" rather than "disagree".

What is with the random overtype when trying to post?

Sometimes when I'm writing the text goes into over-type mode. And sometimes just switches back again and can't figure out why.

Not an expert, but it sounds as if your browser might be the problem.

Is this the problem someone had before where they were accidentally pressing the insert key?

Do you mean that letters you type replace already existing ones?

Yes letters replace existing ones.

I don't know what an insert key is.

It's a key on your PC keyboard - it will have "insert" written on it. It's usually next to "delete" on the keys between the QWERTY and the numberpad, and it toggles between inserting and overwriting when you put text between existing text. If you're overwriting, try tapping it.

ARRGH.

It has come to my attention that some of links in the Barbelith Tarot index go to deleted threads. Nice new people are posting to the threads and the threads do not bump. Could we please get those threads undeleted? Tom? Hayulp!

Is there any way we might get rid of those stupid bloody smilies? And if no is there a way to stop the board software from parsing character strings within HTML tags as bloody smilies so that links which happen to contain a : and a D actually work?

kthksbai.

Okay, I found a fix. If you replace the : with %3A the link will work.

I'm still cross though.

Not really a question, more a pointer. When people link internally at Barbelith, could you make sure you have the www in front of the barbelith in the address please? Without, your link will still work, but people will be looking at the thread as though they weren't logged in to Barbelith, which can be a bit irritating if they are moderators.

OK, I do actually have a question: Those of you whose posts I've just moved for alteration in the Pager thread (XK and d'mandem IIRC), how did you get the address of the threads without the www? Did you log out of Barbelith, find the thread, then log back in to post?
