I have no personal experience with this, but I've heard anecdotally that here in Melbourne the in thing for primary school crowd control is clapping. The idea, I think, is to teach the group a bunch of cool clapping rhythms, each with a different purpose attached to it. Then, when you want them to all be quiet and listen, for example, you clap the designated rhythm and they all clap it back to you and then be quiet. I imagine you could easily google some more detailed pedagogical instructions on how to make this work. Or if you like, PM me and I will ask my primary school teacher friend. |
