Quite nice, actually. It was a bit chilly earlier, then it poured, now it's nice. I'm enjoying an adult beverage with all the windows open, and trying to figure out what CD I should put on. Work was kind of a bitch tonight, so I need something mellow.

It's muggy as all hell here in Pennsylvania. I have the windows shut and the fan blowing. I'm flipping idly through some RSS feeds and reading the latest on Nintendo's upcoming wi-fi offering.

Only one week to go until the big move and my spirits are a bit bogged down with Uncertainty and Worry.

Ah well, I've never been this far from home before, and my girlfriend needs to stay here in PA to finish her undergraduate work. I've been going nuts trying to make plans so the move-in goes well for the family, who's being generous and helping me get up there to your neck of the woods.

You and the girl going to try the long-distance thing? How much more school does she have, and is she even remotely interested in moving up to the Great White North?

She has a year and a half of school left. So yes: long-distance it is. We've been together four years and I'm more than confident we'll survive.

It's just going to be hard as fuck.

I'm certain I could convince her to get to Maine some day, if she's done with her things but I'm not quite.

The winters though...eh. I dunno. I'd like to say I'd keep her warm, but she'd need a helluva lot more coaxing than that.

Damn. Year and a half is a while. Pennslyvania is just far enough so you could make a three-day weekend visit, but also far enough to make it really suck. Perhaps a motel in Western Massachusetts is in your future.

Amherst is great, and the Amherst Brewing Company has the best Pale Ale I've ever had.

And Millar was all like "Hey maybe you didn't hear Grant, but I don't shine shoes no more. I got my own thing goin on. I'm like Marvel's number one guy now, I do a Avengers series and all kindsa other stuff now." Then Morrison was all like "Hey no disrespect, I was just bustin' your chops, haven't seen ya in awhile, just bustin your chops Mark". So Millar calms down and he's like "Ok, no problem".

And then Morrison yells, "Now go get your fuckin' shoe shine kit!". Hahahahahahaha
