Yeah, this time of night or maybe a little earlier is actually my favourite time to be out walking, quiet, dark and beautiful (even though nightime is when trees go evil and start sucking oxygen out of the air and turning it to poison), but it won't be happening tonight.

I think I have to be up early for a family thing too. Yech.

Luckily, then, you already are up early. Good thinking!

Yes, favourite time of night. Evil trees notwithstanding. That's news to me, actually.

But, still, I’m looking out the window and everything’s in shades of blue, kinda like the first issue of Klarion The Witchboy. But far better, obviously. Obviously. What mere comic could ever favourably compare with staring out of the window when you can’t sleep? Plus, comics don't have noisy birds.

Mmmm. It does look lovely outside just now. One of the main reasons I like the night is the colour. In Glasgow (and possibly everywhere else, though I can't say for sure) the streetlights are this really beautiful shade of orange that just fills up the streets and the sky. What's twice as nice is when that colour runs all liquidy across everything when it rains. This is convenient, because it rains a lot here.

If the inside of my head has a colour and sound, it's that shade of orange and the sound of rain.

Not particularly fond of the orange streetlamps, myself. Not if they’re the same orange as we get here, anyway. I wouldn’t miss streetlamps, in general. One of my favourite memories of my time in Nottingham is from just after I moved here, there was a very big power cut, and all the streetlights went off. And there weren’t any riots or crime sprees or huge accidents, nothing much happened at all, but I could stand in the driveway and see the night sky. However small a thing that sounds, it was actually rather nice.

Probably wouldn't have seemed quite so nice withut the orange streetlamps the rest of the time though, so perhaps they'e okay.

A long time ago. A million years BC. The best things in life were absolutely free. But no one appreciated a sky that was always blue. And no one congratulated a moon that was always new.... etc. etc.

Much as I like streetlights, there's nothing like being in the middle of the country and being surrounded by nothing but darkness in all directions but up.

Actually, what you say there reminds me of watching a lunar eclipse. Cut off from the sun, the moon turns red just from all the light pollution we give out. I remember thinking about that one for a bit.

Ah, well, in that case, I count the red moon as another good thing that streetlamps have given us. Not a solid red or a bright red or a boring red, it's always a swirly, surly, proper blood-in-water red. Well worth a marvel.

Aieee, I’m done. Now that I’ve started surfing around for recipes, I’m beginning to feel it’d be a *very* good idea to fall asleep before I stumble into the kitchen and start trying to cook something beyond my capabilities. Goodnight, goodnight, sorry for my rambling, enjoy your family thing later today.

Hey, it's all about the rambling.

Thanks for the encouragement, but I don't see it going well. It'll involve long tracks of me fighting to stay awake through quiet, boring spells.

Good night Mr Head. Your kitchen will be relieved.

Well, I'm still here. Occasionally. But I'm very happy: I get to see Loomis and Ariadne tomorrow.

Rock.

How ya doin', Rothk?

Ugh. Fucken hell.

My date just left in a huff because I grabbed a metal teaspoon out of his hands when he was using to stir couscous in my non-stick pot. I gave him a wooden spoon to use. He made all sorts excuses and such a big fucking deal about it. He told me I should have my "cooking utensils more visible" and I should have just asked him to use a different spoon (...like I already have before! If I told him again he might have complained I was nagging him!), and shouldn't "grab" things out of his hands. I did it as gently as possible, but quickly since I just heard him scrap the side of the pot. I even had a little smile on my face when I did it. I wasn't chastising him.

Fuck. Did that really call for him to walk out? Did it even deserve an argument?

Hope everyone else is doing better than I am. Actually, hmmm...I am okay, just put off by that.

Some people shouldnt be allowed anywhere near cooking implements.

Uri Gellar, for instance.

Hello all! How are you lovely, lovely people doing this evening, apart from being mildly pissed off? Hmmmm?

iamus
23:46 / 02.05.05
Strix, you can grab spoons off me anytime. I won't huff. I'll smile.

Keggers, I think I have some paperclips, or perhaps even clothes pegs that you can grab from me if you wish.

Saint Keggers

Um..thanks for the offer but I think I'll pass.

I will, however, go make coffee. Its quite good.

Are you putting sugar in it?

Don't use a soup spoon.

Papess
23:55 / 02.05.05
How about a fork? A fork for the sugar bowl.

Hello-ello Mel.

Saint Keggers

No. Coffee will be served very black.

Make sure you use a mug though! Not a collander!

All this has made me thirsty. I may brew myself up a pot of green tea, though I'm running low and should probably get some more soon.

And you say you couldn't do a Jenny Everywhere because you can't do humans? I'd pay good money to see you do a Jenny strip in that cartoon style.
