DC is now doing an Ed McGuiness-look line of JLA figures from his JLA Classified arc written by Morrison, if anyone is interested. They actually look kind of cool, though Aquaman has quite a nasty scowl on his face.

I only saw them in print and don't have access to a scanner, they were in the new previews and the new Wizard.

Such large heads... such rage... Although the Flash's arms are too short to scratch his nuts....

This just reminds me why I dislike McGuiness's art so damn much

After looking back at GM's original run on JLA, I see that the baby universe Qwewq actually first appeared way back in JLA #12! That Issue is part 3 of the Rock of Ages storyline and in it Green Lantern Kyle Rayner travels to this place called Wonderworld, an incredible place at the edge of the universe populated entirely by superheroes. There, Qwewq was an infant universe, contained in a petri dish. Wonderworld was later destroyed (during GM's final JLA story - WW3), so I guess that's how the JL came to possess it.

Anyone still reading this?

Ellis' run is over, it took a while and wasn't as good as the two runs before it, but there were a couple of good moments in the last issue where the heroes shined.

Now we're onto Gail Simone's run - one issue in. It's fun and simple. She writes batman very well, all knowing and slightly aloof, Flash is a little odd, seemingly over aggresive, but all the characters have their distinct personalities and it works well, I really enjoyed the issue in a not over explained fun comic book way.

Hahaha look at Aquaman's puny water hand!

So because Martian Manhunter is a shapeshifter, is he purposefully making those big veins on his arms pop out?

I don't know why I love those McGuiness figures so much, but I do.

I picked up the new arc for Simone's writing and the art of Jose Luis Garcia Lopez (interestingly teamed with inker Klaus Janson)...I agree with your assessment. Seems like it could go to some interesting places...the Hypothetical Woman feels like a concept GM would have come up with early in his JLA run.

I dropped the Ellis arc after the first issue, just didn't work for me. (there's a separate thread about the Ellis arc somewhere on here)
