I'm game. Someone else start us off, I'm trying to convince the left luggage people that they can accept Mordant's elephant.

Are you sure your computer's opening the right link, Poster-formerly-known-as-Eion? It looks like a straight-forward explanation of the rules of the game to me...

I, likewise, am game -particularly when I know (having read iconoplast's lovely summary) that I could have moved to Rayners Lane in my last move, which would have left me so far out of nid it's unbelievable. You all must think I'm just saying whatever comes into my head first.

Also, I think that we should introduce that racy little number we call the Featherstonehaugh Amendment...

Ah, a nice comfortable start. I like that. Gives me time to limber up before the mayhem that will inevitably ensue.

Hmmm, I'm interested to see what happens if I chuck in Wellington's Triple Loop Reverse at this early stage of the game, rather than leaving it until later.

Ealing Common

Oooh, that feels gooooood!

A most exhilarating gambit indeed, Our Lady, but risky this early in the game. I can see no less than five move combinations that will result in you landing a Voight Penalty. I admire your willingness to buck tradition, but it might prove your undoing.

I will move the game on to Moorgate. We're taking the elephant with us, by the way...bloody bureaucrats wouldn't take the poor thing in.

Well, if it's coming with us then I suppose we'd better move to...

That was a confusing round of play last go -- I think I'll try to stay in London this time. Call me square.

I'm only a novice and you kind gentle-entities are so much more experienced, but... You did see the standard Porksov variant of the Buckminster defense that can be played here? Even with the Ackford Accord on bi-lineal cross-shunting within the Docklands Economic Development Area and the recent Sue Pollard Memorial Ammendment to Travelcard Deployment during coffee breaks, can't I just nip over to Stratford and initiate a widdershins sub-nid on the next two players?

I missed something obvious here, didn't I?

Good stuff, Orr -but you seem to be forgetting that I can use the Sobchak Defence which means that the I and whoever plays after me are in deferred nid (it should be pretty obvious if and when the actual nid kicks in) and the elephant is left on the Circle line until the next play in Zone 2.

Good stuff, Orr -but you seem to be forgetting...

And you're also trying too hard. Rule referencing minimalism is part of the key to successful play; obscurity, not overkill, the unwritten law.

Actually, I'm shocked this thread is still going. Don't you people have jobs to be doing? What's the matter with you!? Go home the lot of you...

...via Hammersmith, of course.

Whiskey and water, whiskey and water -- nice play that.

I'm afraid I'm not familiar with the Sue Pollard Amendment -- if we're still using the 1918 rules, do we really need Travelcard allowances at all? If so, how are they not covered by existing ticket rules?

I don't think it matters, I'm for Westminster.

Well, it looks like the only way out of this bind is to play that most risky of all moves, the London Charcharondon Ripper Slide, and end up on Old Street. Everybody still have all their appendages?

I knew I shouldn't have used the Charcharondon play...everyone seems to be dead and gone, and I'm stuck on platform 1 of bloody Old Street. *sniff* Might as well call Mornington Crescent and be done with it.

Oy, I was busy trying to help Eion with the rules, I think he's just trying to wind me up by pretending the link didn't work...
