Bear huggles!

So, that where everyone was today, with you Bear!

Howdy May! And hey bear...you're gonna have yourself some POT (noodles) are ya'?

Ganesh
22:50 / 20.07.04
Ahh, not so bad. Other than the usual insommmnia. Think I fucked my sleep pattern up as a junior doctor, and it never recovered...

(That "bore-boy, leave" thing really missed its mark, didn't it? I mean, I know it was a horribly stretched pun, but I thought people would get it. Guess you probably have to imagine Jane Leeves saying it.)

(How do we type these unweildy names? I could be here all day!)

Well you can call me B'nana or 'nana bit or something.

Have i made Ganesh go? Come back!

Have i made Ganesh go? Come back!

Still here, just a bit slowww...

Ah G, I thought maybe it was your all-nighter from the weekend that might have thrown ya' off...

and speaking of noodles, well geez, I ought to get some dinner on the go.

Ganesh
22:57 / 20.07.04
Well, the weekend all-nighters don't help. I seem to be able to subsist, for several days at a time, on only three or four hours of sleep - but then it catches up with me, and I fall asleep soon as I get home, and then can't sleep in the evening.

Bleh.

the cat's iao
23:00 / 20.07.04
Yeah I do that sometimes too. Get into a rut where I only sleep for a few hours at night, then crash out with a power nap after work, and then have trouble sleeping...it can become a bit of a vicious cycle. But the naps are soooo good.

Was a Barbelith London meet, I now know more than I could ever want to know about the Green Lantern... I'm about to head to bed because I'm working early tomorrow...night all...

been out drining with bear actually - and left him at the station for a hasty dash to the train... which then sat in a siding for half an hour...

Ganesh
23:06 / 20.07.04
Didn't realise the Barbe-meet was on until I got home, otherwise might've tried to make it. Ah well. I was knackered anyway (dozed off between 7 and 9pm) so likely wouldn't have been terribly entertaining...

sleazenation
23:08 / 20.07.04
we probably wouldn't have noticed... general drinking frenzy - i only noticed drunkeness when the volume controls on some of those present seemed went up to 11...

Ganesh
23:09 / 20.07.04
And yeah, naps = goooood...

Ganesh
23:11 / 20.07.04
Ahh, but we're still on sort-of-Atkinsy, Sleaze, and avoiding beer/lager - so the drunkenness is more difficult to pace. With hilarious/disastrous results, depending whether one's working the next day...

drining - is that like drinking with some dining, or dining with some drinking?

Or is it all just drinking?

sleazenation
23:13 / 20.07.04
i'm guessing champagne is a key non-atkins ingredient then...

I take a rather Finnish attitude that eating only succeeds in cutting into good drinking time...

Tapas. It's the way to go. Or sushi.

Peanuts just don't cut it.

sleazenation
23:19 / 20.07.04
If i'm eating tapas seldom does it for me - but as the Fins say - are we drinking or eating...

the cat's iao
23:20 / 20.07.04
Do you mean to go as an aid to good drinking, fridge?

w1rebaby
23:22 / 20.07.04
Indeed - helps to pace the evening, and avoid those "omg horribly dizzy bleargh" empty-stomach Stella moments.

BANG

I see what you're saying fridge. I never really knew what tapas was, but using the wonderful interweb I see it's basically like finger foods or cocktail treats. Yes, I see: the pacing. I'm not much of a drinker though, but I enjoy sushi, and would likely enjoy tapas!

w1rebaby
23:35 / 20.07.04
Sushi is basically Japanese tapas, in my version of the world. It's bar finger food. (Apparently, in Japan one doesn't usually use chopsticks to eat sushi... not quite sure how you avoid getting soy sauce all down you but maybe you're supposed to be too drunk to care.)

Ganesh
23:35 / 20.07.04
i'm guessing champagne is a key non-atkins ingredient then...

I'm guessing it is to filthbeer what an avocado is to a McHappy Meal.

the cat's iao
23:39 / 20.07.04
Yeah, so Tapas is like a category of food stuffs rather than a food itself. That's how I'm seeing it anyway. And, I usually eat sushi with my fingers, but I enjoy less soy and more wasabi!

w1rebaby
23:47 / 20.07.04
Given that I've not eaten anything this evening but am drinking booze, I'm trying to convince myself to make some tapas-type foodstuffs (chorizo omelette, given that all the food I have is eggs and chorizo).

It's not working very well. I think a key ingredient is a person who is willing to cook for you.

the cat's iao
23:57 / 20.07.04
Given that a person can make an omelette in like five minutes, you are either very drunk or very lazy, my friend.

Fridgemagnet enters from the West. Fridgemagnet sits down and sings about tapas.

You can see:
- chorizo
- eggs

What now?

Omlettes, that's tempting. If i'd of had a few more beers i'd probably get off my arse and make one.

w1rebaby
01:38 / 21.07.04
It's too late for an omelette now. It would just... spoil things.

If nobody else tells my stomach tomorrow that I didn't have any dinner, I won't either. Is it a deal?
