I just started a "Simpsons" list and then reconsidered, thinking of what havoc that would cause. Maybe I was in an uncharitable mood when I was trying it.

The excellent thing about using the Simpsons is that there are *so* many distinct characters, but who would get to be "comic book guy", and no one on Barbelith is good enough to be Homer.

whatever.

I've got dibs on Dr. Nick Riviera if anyone dares to have a go at it.

Don't be afraid, Todd. Just do it. Let it free. It will be ok, it will be ok.

As long as I am in there, motherfucker.

Ganesh - Mick McManus

Okay, pleeease someone explain this to me a little. I've Googled him, and he looks to be quite nicely chunky but with slightly disturbing hair (which is hardly a unique combination in the wicky wacky world of wrestling). Why him?

It's the shine on the hair, the 'eager to do a thorough job' look in his eyes, and the lips that look like they've been frequently pursed. It all adds up to an uneasy combination of glamour and pragmatism - a conflict between desire and professionalism - suffused with a sense of melancholy (resignation, perhaps, that his dreams will never be fully realised), and a hint of envy.

I just said last night I was marge, I do that "hmmmm" bit and everything! I don't have big hair, though, and I'd have left homer years ago.

better marge than patty AND selma - kick his ass, mordant!

Bitchiekittie is totally Itchy. Her name almost spells it, for christ's sake.

did you research which one was the mouse before labeling me, todd?

I am so the mouse, and I love you for finding and naming me possibly (I haven't REALLY thought this out) the single simpsons character who isn't, in the end, a LOSAH.

I'm rich, rich and none of you are getting your hands on my beautiful money! Smithers, bring me one of those new, fangled cocktail thingies. A pink one.

(If only it was true!)

I was thinking of Blackadder in general. You have to specify from which series, you see.

I see myself as Edmund circa series three - long hair, dresses in black, sarcastically witty and doomed, forever, to the knowledge that his innate intellectual superiority will never be recognised by the dullard he works for.

The only difference being that I don't even have Baldrick to take it out on...

Anyway, to more pressing matters. Who gets to be Bumblebee Man?

I’m sure there’s plenty of potential in a Barbelith Muppet Show, but all I’ve come up with so far is Grant as Sam the Eagle. Erm, Gingerbop as Scooter. Jade as Dr Teeth, Bengali in Platforms as Gonzo, with Je m’appelle Gambit, Fraely, Ox, all those Brighton boys as the chickens. Olulabelle as Janis. Flux as Johnny Fiama. Sax as Beauregard. And Rage as Crazy Harry.

Actually, this is quite good fun. All Muppets rock.

Bedhead!

Janice?! Isn't she the hippy one with big lips and long hair?

Huh. Just because I like gardening and live on a ley line crossing. *Flounces off, tossing (short) hair and pouting.*

BTW, your link isn't working.

Muppets, huh? Well this thread is very American so far, with a little token British nod.

Us lesser mortals...well, you are Beaker, full of clever thoughts but worrying about how to express them.

And Tycho Androgyny is Kermit, the worrying narrator.

Toksik is Animal, due to the 'Raaaaaaaaaaaaahness' of him, and Grant is obviously Dr Bunson Honeydew.

*Goes off to search frantically for a character for 'Bop. *

Yeah, I dunno, it just works somehow.

I went pretty easy, actually, I considered chucking Barney and Milhaus and Chief Wiggum in there for some peeps but it's too cruel...

Then this could be a college faculty
Who'd profess what, would we study or not?
Answers please, but not too insult-y...

With the Muppets, I'm either of the two old guys up in the stalls who shout abuse, or I'm 'tickle me Elmo' on an awayday pass.
