sorry, i thought i was clear. you asked if everyone was happy. i suggested it was obvious you were not, and requested clarification.
although you have expanded, i feel you have not really cleared much up.
you think non-japanese people should not use japanese characters, that is obvious.
but what do you mean when you say so it's ok for someone to write this thread-link but not for someone to say "hey, (my 6 yr old son) you look remarkably like a red-indian" and then get chastised for it?
again with the questions. do you find it offensive that someone said HELP I'M WHITE? if so, was that because they shouldnt ask for help citing their race? or because you are offended by the very idea of a gaijin learning about japan? or perhaps you think that the thread title designing a japanese tattoo is inaccurate due to the design of the tattoo being carried out somewhere other than japan?
please, tell us what you mean. then we can say what we think about the issues you raise. at the moment it appears (and tell me if i am way off here) that you are assuming we should all know what is wrong and feel the same.
if someone had already thought the thread was deeply offensive, we would certainly know. this is barbelith, for god's sake! people will call you on offensive terminology as fast as you can use it. |
