I was mucking around with some bad mojo when the power went out but I don't think I have that kind of power (yet!!)

Conspiracies already flying around about it being a test for any future terrorist attacks.

I thought it was to divert the news away from Blair's evidence at the Hutton Enquiry.

Tryphena Absent

Yes, when I opened the paper up today I suddenly realised that Blair wasn't on the front page and he would have been. It was quite weird and conspiracy theories skipped through my head like a young lamb skips through the field... and then I thought 'silly girl, do shut up'.

Wow, haven't been up late enough to qualify for this thread in a while. What's the what, beloved others?

Saint Keggers
03:01 / 30.08.03
Its a quiet, humid evening and I've got the song Rene And Georgette Maggritte And Their Dog After The War running through my head.

Saint Keggers
03:02 / 30.08.03
How ya doing Maz?

Mazarine
03:06 / 30.08.03
I love that song. I can't sleep, so I'm researching. How are you Keggers?

Saint Keggers
03:11 / 30.08.03
Im doing rather well. Feeling quite mellow right now. Decided to give into the song and downloaded the .mp3 of RaGMWTDAtW. as sung by Jenny Gear and the Whiskey Kittens. I simply adore her singing. A cross between Billie Holliday and Janis Joplin.

What are you researching?

Mazarine
03:20 / 30.08.03
The political/economic/emotional state of Germany from the end of WWI and its progression to the early phases of WWII. Not exactly the sort of stuff to help me get to sleep, but I need to understand it so that I can explain it to a group of actors doing a Brecht play.

Saint Keggers
03:22 / 30.08.03
Interesting. Which play?

Mazarine
03:28 / 30.08.03
Private Life of the Master Race. Series of scenes, loosely tied together. The Jewish Wife is included in it. The professor I work for is directing it, so I'm doing the dramaturgy, which is about my favorite thing to do, but this is a pretty heavy topic, so it requires a lot more focus than my usual lighthearted romps. Gods bless my university's main library, otherwise I don't know how I'd ever make it through, even if the science library has the swankier building, and I have no idea how they managed to get to host the Minerva statue.

Having just looked up 'Dramaturgy' I can now say.."Wow! That seems like a heck of a lot of work."... give me the stage and a good soliloquy (Although I havent done one since my college days O so long ago...)

I think, acting parts aside I'd rather set or costume design.

I love the research. Solid foundations for the show and all that. And the marvelous feel of dusting off and cracking open a book that hasn't been checked out in several years. I really wish I could read more languages. Gotta get on that.

There's something about old books thats almost magical. That dusty, musty, old book smell is one of the greatest things there is. Timbits being the other.

Mazarine
04:29 / 30.08.03
I love the ones that have their own boxes because the bindings just can't be trusted anymore. I didn't even bother to read it after a while, I just smelled it till I was dizzy.

The other children are scared of me.

What's a Timbit? Or who's Tim?

Saint Keggers
04:35 / 30.08.03
It seemed rather apropos so I shall quote "Books smell. Musty and, and, and, and rich. The knowledge gained from a computer, is, it ... it has no texture, no context. It's there and then it's gone. If it's to last, then the getting of knowledge should be tangible, it should be, um... smelly."

Whats a Timbit? Imagine if you will a donut; completly spherical and aprox. 5 cm in diameter. Available only from Tim Hortons, a canadian donut chain.

Mazarine
05:11 / 30.08.03
Damnation, now I want a donut. Of course, if I start driving now, I could probably make it to Canada by six... but it's Labor Day weekend... hell.

Well, 2:30, Tom and Jerry's back on, I'm done. Night Keg!

Saint Keggers

G,night! I'll be waiting with the Timbits should you decide to make the drive.

Goddamn bored with all my stuff packed up. Might go for a drive. Don't expect any response to this, but don't care either: itchy fingers. What to do? What to do?

And yes, it is late--2:30 am...

Us boring old folks are staying in on Sat. night... thanks goodness the music is soo good.

I guess I am somewhat of a "boring old folk" myself: I am in too, for now. Still between houses, so still faced with TV or internet as the primary forms of entertainment around the place we are staying at. Although, I think I might head down to the skatepark in an hour or so and, as they say, "shread it up" a bit.

Considering it was back in highschool (86-91) the last time I 'shredded it up' Im now official feeling sooo damn old. Gonna take these ol bones to the retirement home soon... so old...so very very old.
