I read a thing on CNN.com that they're trying to make Liz Phair into the new Avril Lavigne.
Who's "they"?
Liz Phair chose to include several tracks co-written/co-produced with The Matrix, a team who've worked with people including, shock horror, Avril, on her new self-titled album. This, coupled with the fact that she dares to express her sexuality in her lyrics and promotional/record sleeve art (at her age, blah blah), has led to many deeply boring old punk rock puritans going off on one about selling out blah blah death of blah blah inegrity mainstream yada yada blah blah phishcakes. |
