Peeling back the hessian.....

age : 32 very soon. Although recently I am beginning to refuse to accept such arbitrary frames of reference.

sex : male. Though I am in touch with my feminine side, usually by SMS.

location : the part in the centre of the UK that likes to think of itself as part of 'The North'. Splitters.

political leanings : used to consider myself very left until, that is, I started earning my own money and got a family. Now find myself very slowly (and slightly painfuly) slipping towards middle class conformity. Notwithstanding the class A consumption. Still think I'm left though, as most of my ideals tend not to agree with most capitalist doctrines. Basicaly I borrow bits
from here and there.

religious/spiritual leanings : hard science is the only belief system that has in any way satisfied my 'bigger' questions. We are only here due to a freak, self-perpetuating chemical accident that kicked off billions of years ago. We are not here for a reason. We serve no purpose. We are, to all intents and purposes, entirely insignificant. And I find that thought strangely liberating.

education : discovered that I had lost my way in life half way through an undergraduate degree and consequently dropped out, much to my close friends' and family's bewilderment. So it goes. This is not, however, the entry under the same category on my CV.

music : mostly electronic, with a definite downbeat bias. Occasionally, though, the old Hacienda ecstacy-head in me surges to the surface with ear-splitting rebel yell, forcing me to put on some real bass-infused, 130bpm, squelchy house. Wheeeeeeeeeeeee!

food : venison & redcurrant sausages on a bed of mashed potatoes and celeriac with fresh chopped chives & Lancashire crumbly cheese, swimming in a rich red wine and onion gravy.

p/n : definitely p.

The political leanings question seems to be a bit... well, pointless, seeing as it seems that everybody seems to be the same. But fairy nuff.

yea maybe if we put in a degree of lean?

lets see, left, Id say im about 4 degrees. enough to have no faith in government but still too lazy to do much about it besides march down streets.

I dunno, the person who started the poll said that they were right of center, which I really think would be a good addition to the mix here. Our political leanings are pretty much the same, and the political dicussions seem to be an echo chamber to me.

I never do get tired of talking about myself... well, occasionally, but only after like 20 straight hours.

Age: Twenty three, but this winter has done miserable things to my skin.
Sex: I'm a pretty lllaaaaaaaaaaadddy. Sorry. Double X.
Location: Upstate New York.
Political Leanings: I've started longing for a decent monarch, and occasionally thinking that I'd be a decent monarch, so to sum up,
I'm an idiot.
Religious/Spiritual Leanings: Gnostic (or trying to be, I haven't the slightest clue if I'm geting it right), but I tend to cast
the show using the Judeo-Christian pantheon.
Favorite Genre of Music (or artists): Geez, I can't keep track of what the hell all these genres are called, I didn't even know industrial had its own name until 1998. Um... I like Radiohead, The Tea Party, The Bad Seeds, Weezer, Ben Folds Five, The Handsome Boy Modeling School, I dunno, if it's not Mariah Carrey, a boy band, or Celine Dion, chances are I'll give it a shot.
Education: Currently working on a masters in Theater Arts, focusing on history. I love school so.
Favorite Food: Varies, at the moment, potato and leek soup.

Ganesh - yup, there did but (surprisingly) it developed into a mass slinging sesh, IIRC.

Age: 30. Weird. Once you hit this point, age becomes kind of irrelevant till you're 40.
Sex: Male
Location: I'm from bleeding Landahn, innit? Bad attempt to represent dodgy Cockney accent. One of the few who lives here who was born here. Currently, North. South London - wrong
Political Leanings: Think anarcho stuff would be a good idea, if we cold scratch it all and start again on a different planent. So woolly liberal with odd tangents until we stop being such a fucked up bunch of bastards.
Religious/Spiritual Leanings: Very interested in my own "stuff", refracted through modern occultism, Thelema, Taoism and lots of other random bits and pieces. See The Magick.
Favorite Genre of Music (or artists): Was Hip Hop (see me Nom de Barb), now kind of "everything" with current soft spot/ interests being Country and weirdo Jap bands.
Education: Pretty worthless but entertaining at the time degree in English and Media and Cultural Studies. I think I've got loads more out of my own reading and researches than anything else.
Favorite Food: At a push, Thai, but will scoff anything.

OK here we go.... (and I'm sorry!)

Age: too much - timeless, all being well.
Sex: only with tazmanian she devils, mermaids, sirens or the like. (so no)
Location: Round our way - between the mental home and the total garage
can't miss it, it's a big bloody building with people in it and everything.
Political Leanings: Dolphins....click click eeeek eeeeek click click!
Religious/Spiritual Leanings: Jesus touches me also - in many ways. I did once follow the teachings of this bloke I saw in some pub, but ended up £10,000 worse off and with a sore...
Favorite Genre of Music (or artists): Par-ty like it's your birthday and etc...
Education: Taught everything I know by the horses of queston tele fanago! (and comics, mostly the Beano, but we've all got to start somewhere). Also have learnt a lot from Time team and Catchphrase, say what you see - wise words indeed!
Favorite Food: advised babies, but that's just a colleague, personally I prefer beef I also like the colour blue! NOT THE CRAP BEAT COMBO, and have been known to feast on parts of Optimus Prime in my youth - head or otherwise, but promise I didn't swallow.
NINJA / PIRATE : I where black all the time and wallow in the shadowy underworld assassinating people for money by sneaking upto them and plunging a silent blade into their vital organs, but I've also got a patch over my left eye my best friend is a parrot called dickenson I only have one leg and whenever i get any money i bury it straight away in stupid places that can only be accessed via the sea, (but have an adverse opinion of gas-heads in general) You decide!

Age: 29
Sex: xy
Location: Southampton posse.

Political Leanings: Dirty, commie, pinko, Guardian-reading, yoghurt-eating leftie to the core. I'd describe my self as a pragmatic liberal. Have heavily-petted with Marxism and could rapidly convert to anarcho-communist with sufficient evolution in the means of production.

Religious/Spiritual Leanings: EXTREME agnostic, dude. I don't know what it's all about, you don't know what it's all about, who knows what it's all about? What's it all about!? See, this is fun. I used to be a hard-line atheist until I learnt to accept the background level of uncertainty that is inevitable in 21st century po-mo life, um, dude.

Favorite Genre of Music (or artists): Eep. From Bach to Throbbing Gristle via stop-offs at Tom Waits, New Model Army, Pogues, PJ Harvey, Alabama 3, Tindersticks, Cat Stevens, Eighties Matchbox B-line Disaster, Ministry, Sigur Ros, Tool, Joy Division, well, just loads of stuff. And I really like the new White Stripes album. And I'm seeing Nick Cave in June. And I could really go on about music forever and still not get even close to a definition. Wargh.

Education: BA in Social Science. Interesting mix of Politics, Philosophy and Sociology that has proven immeasurably useful in securing gainful employment. Honest.

Favorite Food: Have gradually over the last couple of years been persuaded that whisky, cigarettes and chemicals does not constitute a full and healthy diet. Am still not totally convinced but am having fun with cooking and vegetables and stuff in the meantime. And pizzas and takeaways and kebabs and chocolate. Hm, would love to be a vegetarian and have tried many times to convert but seem to lack the necessary level of willpower or commitment. This makes me sad.

Pirate/ninja: Arrh, it be a life on the high seas fer me yer scurvy dog. Arrh.

04:53 / 28.04.03
Age- 26
Sex- should be obvious enough
Location- Brisbane

Politics/Religion- "Be excellent to each other and party on, dude."

Music- at the moment, I favour extraordinarily kick-arse pop music that doesn't pretend to be all deep and meaningful, examples- Andrew WK, the B-52's, Aqua, Sekiden, Lolita Storm, Little Richard.

Education- irrelevant, I think.

Food- Currently, I'm generally too lazy to cook properly, so it's vegetarian hotdogs. and beer.

Pirate/Ninja- Sigh, again with the false dichotomies. I am a mother-fucking VIKING!

Sing Ho! For Piglet

Here lies a tree which Owl (a bird)
Was fond of when it stood on end,
And Owl was talking to a friend
Called Me (in case you hadn't heard)
When something Oo occurred.

For lo! the wind was blusterous
And flattened out his favourite tree,
And things looks bad for him and we---
Looked bad, I mean, for he and us---
I've never known them wuss.

Then Piglet (PIGLET) thought a thing:
"Courage!" he said. "There's always hope.
I want a thinnish piece of rope.
Or, if there isn't any bring
A thickish piece of string.

So to the letter-box he rose,
While Pooh and Owl said "Oh!"
and "Hum!"
And where the letters always come
(Called "LETTERS ONLY") Piglet sqoze
His head and then his toes.

0 gallant Piglet (PIGLET)! Ho!
Did Piglet tremble? Did he blinch?
No, No, he struggled inch by inch
Through LETTERS ONLY, as I know
Because I saw him go.

He ran and ran, and then he stood
And shouted, "Help for Owl, a bird
And Pooh, a bear!" until he heard
The others coming through the wood
As quickly as they could.

"Help -help and Rescue!" Piglet cried
And showed the others where to go.
Sing ho! for Piglet (PIGLET) ho!
And soon the door was opened wide
And we were both outside!

Sing ho! for Piglet, ho!
HO!
