This looks fun. All bow before the Oppressed Peopls of Tremula!

10! I have a very dull dissertation to write, so I need distraction. Hence the creation of Mistylania.

Here's a tip. If you decide that you're not interested in the game anymore, go to Settings and select Vacation Mode. You might want to return one day.

So, guess who ironically forgot to set his Nation to "Vacation Mode" before he went on vacation...

Fortunately, it survived.

The Sultinate of Gridley would love to return to scenic Barbelith, but we have run up against the problem of the password. If anyone could whisper it in my ear, that would be splendid.

I still pop in every so often but the game dosn't seem to offer all that much. One can set out to improve their nation's economy, or environment etc... but after awhile it's just moderatly novel... IMO

New password, cusm? Has our secret word been leaked to the masses? Are you worried about a further influx of F2Bers? Did you think it was too easily guessed?

Only cusm can answer that.

Hm, I was about to fix the password, but it seems The Queendom of South Masheba has usurped the position. The old password was "invisiocracy", if that helps any.

The Barbelith region is almost abandoned. You are welcome to join the Fade to Black region.

An update.

A second Barbelith thread (ancient history).

Are there any other 'Lithers still playing NationStates?

I tried again about a month ago, and it's just not a whole lot of fun. So I quit. And yes, it must be MY fault that the game sucks.

I don't remember if I first heard about NationStates from this thread or if I was already playing before that, but my country has been active for a couple years now. Yes, the novelty does wear off pretty quickly - I've gotten most of the issues a dozen times or more - but it only takes about 30 seconds a day to play and eventually you can get a pretty good ranking in the UN reports. I've broken the top 100 in the world for "nicest citizens" and "most environmentally friendly," proving that corrupt dictatorships aren't all bad.*

Hee, well I've only just gotten into it

The Republic of Tripletsia is a tiny, safe nation, renowned for its devotion to social welfare. Its hard-nosed, intelligent population of 5 million love a good election, and the government gives them plenty of them. Universities tend to be full of students debating the merits of various civil and political rights, while businesses are tightly regulated and the wealthy viewed with suspicion.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, socially-minded government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Social Welfare, Healthcare, and Education. The average income tax rate is 45%, but much higher for the wealthy. A very small private sector is led by the Book Publishing industry, followed by Gambling and Trout Farming.

Crime is well under control, thanks to a well-funded police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Tripletsia's national animal is the frog, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the romcom.

Looks like whole regions have vanished! Seems like there has been some of virtual global catastrophe.

The Barbelith region is long gone, but the Fade to Black region tenaciously remains.

Not F2B is ranked 1st in the region and 316th in the world for Happiest Citizens. 316th isn't bad out of 111,086 nations, especially considering the abject poverty and crippling crime rate.
