This looks like way too much fun:

http://www.nationstates.net/

You establish a nation, answer questions about issues that come up to define your politics, and engage in debate and international policy decisions through the UN.

Here's mine.

Anyone up for establishing the region of Barbelia?

I've got one too!

But I'm playing with the MillarWorld lads and lasses just now.

I see your country's motto is a twist in Optimus Prime's. Very nice.

I'm for the idea of a Barbelia region, but only when we have enough 'lither states as members to make it worth our while (see the UN section of the website).

this could be terribly addictive but your govenment can only get a maximum of two issues to deal with a day still i've started The people's republic of Hoxton crime and corupption is rife but we do have a first rate education system. My prediction is the state will fall within two weeks.

I have started a nation as well...the Rogue Nation Of Solitaire Rosaries. Look for me to be overthrown by oil companies within the next three months, just like Venezuela.

All welcome? that will never do. How will we keep out the riff raff states? After the peoples republic of Hoxton has moved there of course...

I don't know how much longer this will last. According to the forum administrator, they've been running the site for about two weeks and are already shifting about 3Gb of traffic per day.

Auckland is up and running!

My currency is the Barbel and my animal is the Stoat! The Free Land of Auckland is a tiny, devout nation, notable for its absence of drug laws!

Well, the Sultanate of Argnox is up and sort of ambling listlessly along. The laggy server is making it difficult for me to join the Barbelith region, but once we do, let's become a real problem for everyone else, hey?

I'm having difficulty uploading my nation's flag (The Republic of Toddsylvania, that is). The stupid server keeps thinking it's larger than 6kb, and you know that ain't right.

My first "issue" was about public nudity. I guess I'm a bit of a milquetoast because I didn't make it mandatory.

So- how does this work? You get an issue (or two - I set it up for two every week day, yet I've only got one today) and you act on it, and your country's ratings change accordingly? What happens if you dismiss an issue? Status quo?

Also, if you view your own region, the Pacific, there should be a link with the words "Tired of life in the Pacific? Then move to a new region!"

It seems some people are losing interest in the NationStates game. For those who no longer visit or rarely visit the web site, what sort of reasons are there for your loss of interest?
