after being in London for 5 months and meeting lots of cool
Barbeloids, I'm back in Toronto, and figure you guys have to be at
least as cool as the Londoners. So, who's up for a pint in the next

Earlier on Thursday might work for me - or if you fancy a movie (and a fair bit of gore) with your pint, we could check out the screening of "Dog Soldiers" being hosted by Rue Morgue magazine on Wednesday night.

Evenings about 6 onwards anywhere would be good. Wouldn't mind the chance to meet some more people here before disappearing to England.

If Woodbine and Danforth is accessible then there's a decent Mackie's Taigh Osda is good. Largely because they serve my new favourite beer. Hacker Pschorr. All you can eat mussles on Tuesday is tasty as well.

Wednesday's not very good for me until a bit later on (8:30 or so...) but anywhere on Queen is fine with me. The Cameron House? I haven't been there forever, but I guess its suitability depends on whether or not they have a show going on that night. Squirly's might be okay, but I don't know if that's too far West...

Not knowing any of the bars first hand, I'll just say 'The Black Horse' from 6pm onwards. Sound like a plan? I'm assuming it's between John and Spadina, so please correct me if I'm wrong.

I'm also assuming we'll still be there past 830pm, so stop by Abagail.

What does everyone vaguely look like? I always hate the 'looking-at-people-strangely-to-determine-if-they're-barbeloids' part of meets.

Black Horse is good, we can always shift venue if it goes bad.

Me. Tall with short dark hair and metal frame glasses. Probably be wearing black jeans with green t-shirt.

If we're talking about next week, there's a Reclaim The Streets party starting around 7ish next Friday (August 31), Kensington Market area. Week after, I'm into film fest madness, not to resurface until mid-September with popcorn lodged in my teeth and a semi-permanent squint.

BTW, there's a karaoke night at Joe Baldi's on Saturday, featuring the actor who plays the Host on Angel, as a tie-in to the comics con. I've been told it's free, although I remain suspicious on this point. Anyway, geeky fun, anyone planning on being there?
