Maybe I'm just lazy, but sometimes I'd love a "back to top" button at the bottom of the page. My scrolly finger is getting one hell of a workout... good thing it's the same finger I use for - never mind.

Don't know if anyone's already said it, but a 'delete all' or a series of check boxes for private messages would be a boon. I'm getting all full up, and it's going to be a drag to delete twenty odd PM's by hand...

Seconded, and after a first reply is a made, I don't think additional Re's need to be added.

Try hitting the "home" key.

And I'm going to re-iterate my two biggest whines, I'm afraid: still missing the "today's active topics" page, and also the "veiw recent posts" option in the member's profiles.

I'd like to "view recent posts" as well.

Yes. I want to stalk people again.

(In an edgy way.)

Agreed, agreed. If you want to see what's on a particular poster's mind that day or whatnot. It helps one to form a picture of others in one's head.

*pictures the picture that might form in someone's head if they looked at my recent posts; shudders*

Okay, I want the recent posts thing except for me.

What I really wanted to say was: Topic abstracts rock, but is there any way they could be made visible whenever you're viewing the thread, rather that just when you reply?

Yeaaaahhh... Just what is going in that crazy Column 2, anyway? A Junior Jumble (I hope I hope I hope...)?

Ok. As usual the only reason this stuff isn't happening is because Cal is being worked to death. We will get around to it. I promise.

Any chance we could get an ignore button that doesn't wear off after a week? You could still turn it off whenever you like, but you don't have to keep clicking on the same people every seven days to make them go away...

I think the point of the ignore button is that it gives you some breathing space, not that it allows you to long-term ignore people. Anyone else got an opinion?

How about increasing the amount of time the ignore button works for. Not all the way to forever and ever, but maybe to a month's time.

I don't know. I only see the ignore button as necessary because others feel it necessary and because it's better than the alternatives. I've never used it myself and see no reason to. Threads would become quite confusing when they're full of gaps, I would think.

I agree completely - the danger with extended terms using the ignore button is that it might result in a splitting of the discussion into two or more completely parallel debates that never cross. If someone's a systematic problem, then I think they need to be dealt with outwith the ignore button process...

Being able to access the second or third page of multi-page posts from the forum topics list instead of having to go to the first page of posts would be nice.

I miss the self edit function and the "homepage" listing in the profiles.

Ah, what about a spell checker?

I mentioned this before, but moderators should be able to have the option of editing/altering the titles of threads. Can we get this fixed sometime soon?

Tom Coates

Again - yes, absolutely - that's a priority, but it's a question of Cal having time to do it. I'll speak to him about it...
