This is copied directly from my "Buffy-Meanings” floppy.. yes I have one of those and no I'm not a sad over weight middle aged man with an anorak.

(1) The "7-3-0" dream from Graduation, pt. 2. The reference occurs when Buffy is in her bedroom and looks at the clock, which reads 7:30. She says "It's so late." Dream Tara replies "Oh, that clock's completely wrong.” serious meanings for 7-3-0

Mark 7:30
"And when she was come to her house, she found the devil gone out, and her daughter laid upon the bed"
Her house: - Faith's apartment
The devil:- Probably the Mayor who was preparing to become pure demon
Gone out:- The Mayor's (evil) influence had been purged from Faith why else would she help Buffy, telling her of his ‘human weakness’.
Or possibly, Faith could be the devil and her soul had left her body - she was in a coma
Her daughter?:- As a slayer can only be called when the previous slayer has died, Faith could be considered as Buffy's 'daughter' using this sort of metaphor, for the passing of a slayers rein. (Or grand daughter because of Kendra) Faith could also be seen as the darker offspring of Buffy's, being both her junior in year and in Slaying experience, and embodying the darkness in which Buffy could have descended into.
Not so serious:
7-3-0 is part of the telephone code for in a town called Sunnyvale, California.
Other:
There is no 7:30 in either Genesis or Revelation. So it may not have anything to do with the end or the beginning of Buffy.

ALSO, and this one is just btw Faith says in another dream, I think in This Year’s Girl when she wakes up from her coma “Got Little Sis coming” and together with her Grad. Day dream sequence reference to Little Miss Muffet there was that crazy guy outside the magic shop.. Remember? In Real Me, he said “I know what you are. Curds and Way..”

hummmm coincidence? Yeah that’s Jo-incidence with the C

That's some really interesting stuff.
Is there a website or something with all this stuff on it?

I sorta pieced it together from stuff that I wrote and then what I got from one of my favourite web sites :
All Things Philosophical On BTVS

This site has EVERYTHING. The synopsis' episode by episode are fabulous. Check it out!

I've seen 'Once More With Feeling'! It is the Best Thing Ever. And utterly heartbreaking, like the show always is at its best. Can't believe they got away with the Tara levitation scene though... The demon is one of the bets they've ever had, too.

"I can bring whole cities to ruin
And still find time to get a soft-shoe in..."

not a bad episode, but not great. have i mentioned how much i hate those three "villains", though the one guy getting all nasty looks like it may lead somewhere interesting.

and maybe he'll waste Dawn, 'cause I fucking hate that character.

It would just figure that Buffy gets a new haircut, and noone gets to see it cause she's fucking invisible. Beautiful.

Actually you can do something really interesting with those three villains and Willow. Of course she'd had to kick there asses and co-opt them as her adoring bitches. Willow and her cell of techno-magicians. Doing whatever it takes to save the world. Of course she'd be all blinded by power and Buffy has to stop her. Just think...little willow as the seasons major "villain".

But they've gone and completely fucked her so I doubt it. (I haven't seen the last episode so there may be hope.)

Yeah, I think concensus is that Willow should have been the major villain for the season. Ah well, there's always next year.

hey, is this season almost over? I mean, what, there's like 6 or 7 episodes left?
The Spike and Buffy thing is cool because it's all cute and funny... but only cause it's not gonna end very well.

I was thinking about this Buffy came back "wrong" bit and after seeing the first episode again I think I know what she is. Anyone care to guess?

PS. You do know that if Willow does become the major "problem" here only Giles could stop her, right?

Giles stop her in what sense? Gotta lotta respect for Giles, but I don't really think he could take her.

*Spoilers for Doublemeat*

I liked that "Double Meat Palace" had a campier feel to it, reminded me of the earlier episodes. It's lookin' like Amy may be the bona fide big bad this season. And dammit, I want Tara back.

And for todays public service message, why you can't hang around your old drug - I mean - magic using friends anymore once you've decided to "go straight". Bleh.

Doublemeat was creepy, in a kind of squishy, not to plesant way. I liked the Soilent Green lift. I was waiting the whole episode for Buffy to flip out and yell "Double Meat is PEOPLE!"

Eh, close enough.

Actually, from the eye-rolling during the act, I'd say Buffy is getting sick of the Buffy/Spike couplings too.

And yeah, there can't be that much left of the season and it still feels like it's floundering. I think really it's too late in the year to introduce any new bad guys or a unified story. Perhaps the "Buffy came back wrong" thing is meant to be the focus, but it's a really weak one.

I tell ya, if this season continues like it has, and next season is no better, I may stop watching.

Maybe they should have left Buffy dead.

Holy Shit! Maybe they did. In Fray (Joss Whedon's comic book) he makes reference to Buffy's death. She was involved in an apocalyptic battle and somehow died. Sounds like last season's finale to me. Maybe this isn't Buffy, hence her difficulty in finding focus this year.

Maybe not.

I'm not too keen on the whole "Buffy has no future" angle (no, not that she's doomed to die, just that she's doomed to go nowhere in life). I mean, jeez! I worked at McDonald's for all of two weeks before looking for greener pastures. Spike was right. Places like that, they kill your soul.

Ok, Buffy's always been a bit dark. But lately, its been more of a dark that makes you feel all crawley and just a bit dirty. I mean, the last few episodes have been just... wierd. Powerful, but in subtle ways. Its definitely a different turn, and damn near a different show than its been.

Looks like next week will be back to the old formula a bit, likely to give us all a break from the constant artful emotional breakdown its been lately.

The time demons were way cool, though.

Any thoughts on this week's ep?
