Actually, my real secret shame is that none of this comes from having read the comics. Narratives interest me, shitty X-Men comics don't. This detail comes from reading *about* comics, which must make me a metageek...

Actually, Haus, the thing I remember from my roleplaying <cringe> days, using the Marvel Heroes system, is the seductive structure gaming imposed upon the Marvel universe. Like yourself, I was fascinated by the ways in which the individual pieces (powers, background, secret origin, etc.) fitted together - without having to endure the dull and rather repetitive experience of actually reading the comics themselves.

SPOILERSZ??

I'm definitely among the "Annual Takes Place Before 117", but then I didn't buy the Cassie Mind Switch theory.

I just can't imagine the X-Men being on regular business duty after Beast has discovered what he's discovered. When Domino mentions X's outing and the formation of X-Corp, Beast would've definitely gone, "Oh fuck! Right! Did you guys know he's evil now? Again?"

And four days in X-World is plenty enough time to go to Hong Kong. And plus, the X-Men had no idea who Sublime was when they arrived in Hong Kong.

I think all speculation will cease when Sublime turns up next issue but, for now, circle gets the square.

Benjamin.

Finally got this through the mail today- fantastic, what the art lacks the story more than makes up for.

Morrison has a real knack for suspenseful endings, this comic just had so much raw energy and intensity to it. Brilliant.
