are we all getting different questions?

Fungus of Consciousness

It would seem so, I might have had a chance on the Australian animals!

I´m just waiting for the first time, someone has a question that´s in french or spanish.

Fungus of Consciousness

Grr, missed by that much! *holds fingers close together and peers between them*

9/10

My Mom Thinks I'm Cool
09:23 / 11.02.08
10 correct! that's more like it. and at 6 AM too.

just as long as there aren't any more questions about movies which don't suck. I only see the suck ones.

HCE

I also got two questions about musicals, both of which I got wrong, unsurprisingly, since I hate musicals.

My Mom Thinks I'm Cool

what, my 10 doesn't count? I guess the quiz they email to you is not the Real Quiz.

7 again. I'm a big dummy head.

Hallo, Paper Spaceboy

#8 this time. It seemed quite snappy today.

8 again. Damn some of you guys are either kings of trivia or very lucky. All those musical question f@@@ed me up.

blech. I was not prepared for multiple questions on Stephen King. My lead will be gone by morning, but for now I dance and sing songs of praise about myself!

pony
04:43 / 12.02.08
yeah, the combo of stephen king and shakespeare just destroyed me, even with some lucky guessing on my part.

Fungus of Consciousness
06:54 / 12.02.08
Damn Stephen King!

5/10, bombed!

The Natural Way
07:27 / 12.02.08
9 out of 10. Some of them I got through a process of elimination. I'm certainly not up on the king either, but I know Cujo's about a dog. And Red Rose sounds rubbish.

Jack Fear
12:43 / 12.02.08
How random is this thing, anyway? I got a Stephen King question, too—which I got wrong, BTW—and two about Lord of the Flies. Damned odd.

Papess
12:53 / 12.02.08
It doesn't help that I decided to do the trivia while making breakfast. If it wasn't multiple choice I think every answer would have been "waffles".

Lama glama
13:22 / 12.02.08
Gah, I was doing so well up until today's round. Damn you obscure quotations!

Lama glama
13:23 / 12.02.08
I finished up ahead of you Papess, despite doing worse. At least the system appreciates things done the Homer Simpson way. Which is of course, the wrong way, but faster.

I was wondering about how being so slow and distracted changed my score. Yesterday, I was also distracted by random huggings from a certain seven-year old affection-ninja. It was so easy to lose my focus, even though I got a 10/10.

Gah. 5 of 10. I'm shit today.

HCE
21:46 / 12.02.08
I know, Stephen King! I ate it on that one, and Terry Pratchett too. Some of these writers I've never even heard of.

5. I am teh suxx0r.

Just one question of my own- what the fuck is "an AP book"?

pony
23:32 / 12.02.08
"advanced placement", maybe? these are "college level" courses for high schoolers similar to the IB courses that I think the rest of the world has. depends on context, of course.

STOATIE LIEKS CHOCOLATE MILK
23:34 / 12.02.08
Context was "which of these is considered a good AP book". Advanced Placement sounds plausible, but... hang on, what's IB?

I've got a degree majoring in English Lit but I've never heard these terms before...

Hallo, Paper Spaceboy
23:46 / 12.02.08
International Baccalaureate, Stoat. Run outta Geneva, basically advanced-placement, college-level curriculum in high school. You can either do a full diploma or just get certificates in particular courses (which is how I did it, focused on geography, French, and English Lit). Schools will set up an IB program if there's enough interest.

Ah, makes sense. I'd have understood that. Being tested on knowledge of acronyms is a different thing to being tested on knowledge of literature, though!

Mind you, I'd still only have got 6 even if I got that one.

Essential Dazzler
01:20 / 13.02.08
Well, I beat Stoatie. That's enough for me.

This is going to become a daily feature. I apologise, but I'm trying to cultivate a small self-esteem garden, it needs lots of watering.

Paralis
04:40 / 13.02.08
Blech. 8/10. I don't mind that I got the question about the 11 Oscars wrong--that's a fact or a record or something I might have known.

But "8. In what year did Lee make a guest appearance on 'Family Ties'?"

Leaving aside the fact that Family Ties isn't a movie, and that it's a stupid question, who the sweet fuck is Lee?

Oi. If they keep sandbagging me like this, I'll never be able to afford that suspicious horse.

Papess
11:20 / 13.02.08
I am going to have to speed things up a bit.

My Mom Thinks I'm Cool
12:35 / 13.02.08
well, I am, at least, sucking consistently.

If I get a third day of multiple Stephen King questions tomorrow, I'm so quitting.

Paralis
04:30 / 14.02.08
And religion is not at all my area of expertise. 4/10, and I wasn't even quick about it. I think I'll take next Thursday off.

HCE
05:36 / 14.02.08
I didn't even try, I just clicked through. Good to know religion=Jesus.

Paralis
06:09 / 14.02.08
Hm? That must be a strange sample, then. Mine was skewed Judeo-christian, but there was one question about Satanism(!), two about Hinduism, and at least two that could loosely be considered comparative (one about the nature of sin, and another about Lao Tsu). I really thought the whole thing was relatively balanced in exposing my ignorance, all told.
