Anyone fancy a darkened room full of people dressed in black dancing to Front 242 to giant back projections of democracy decaying?

Will there (and I believe this is the most pertinent question) be Green Vinyl Pants™?

Even Dark Green Vinyl Pants™?

Hhmph. That is a quite pertinent question, and one I wouldn't know the answer to definitively. I suspect there will be vinyl worn, and possibly pants, but the combination of the two - and most importantly, in green - it's possible.

Ooooh, sounds fun!

No, really. That is one of my fun things to do, despite being about 15 years too old now.

Yeah, I know the feeling; the time I went before I did feel a bit too brightly-dressed these days as well. However, the people there were all terribly nice (in a doomy, Industrialist kind of way, natch) and mostly Slimelite survivors who wanted something a little less intensive.

Hello all!

I am going to be in London on the 27th/28th/29thish, primarily to soil myself in front of Polysics on the Sunday evening and coincidentaly pop along to the Wasted launch the day before. It seems the fates have conspired to pack my weekend with more people than I can shake a stick at, but I would dearly like to meet some children of the lith, both to catch up with the Stokey brigade and meet you lovely others.

Anyone fancy drinks at some time?

I am up in town on the 26th for the new Rothko exhibition at Tate Modern with an ex-Barbeloid, whether we'd be free for drinks on that evening would be debatable, we might be going to Poptimism, we might be going flump somewhere. There are various arty things happening that weekend that might distract me, but perhaps the faithful standby of The Afternoon Pub Meet-Up might be a winner over the weekend. So, do we try and edge all the Poles out of The Plough?

I'd like that very much. You think there's much chance of a good proper-style meet up? In all honesty, it's probably the last one I'll have a chance to attend, rate of things around here. Will be at Polysics on the Sunday night, so Saturday's probably better for me.... having said that, I think they're on at 8 or something.... but still, Sat might be better for me...

Hmm, that would be lovely. I'm not sure if I have anything planned for the 27th yet, but would generally prefer a Saturday meet. Sunday during the daytime I'm very tempted to go and see Godard's Histoire(s) du Cinema at the Rio in Dalston - all 260+ minutes of it, getting its UK theatrical debut after all these years - so might not be around for drinks then.

Sounding more like Saturday. Will be spiffing to see you again, sir. I trust all is well with kith and kin? Need to see The Stoat too, since I ran into him five minutes after getting off the bus at Glastonbury, but didn't manage to catch up for a beer later.

Seth? Atom? Either of you two about?

Stoatie's not working that weekend either (I know that 'cos I checked about Godard availability).

We're all good here... and I just found out I'm going to be DJing at Shunt on 2 October too.

I've been asked to lead a crowd in a rendition of the Thriller dance on Halloween.

It's not the sort of offer I could possibly turn down, but I'm a bit scared of what might happen if I say yes.

I'll be there for Polysics, obvs. I have just swung the Saturday morning off work I was looking for, which is the only reason I haven't crashed into this thread bellowing assent until now. So... yes, both days.

yep, i shd be there.

(Oh and definately keep me posted about anything happening at Shunt because it's apparently an amazingly spooky, kooky place and i've not yet been...)

If it goes into the evening, I'll try to be at the Pluff.

I've not been to Shunt either, but I hear many fun things about the place.

Towards the evening is best for me. Wasted launches Saturday, so I'll be meeting up with studio types, then posssssssibly getting food. I'm trying to fit this all together, because the weekend is going to be mental for me. Barbelith Plough action is topping the list though. Also, Polysics are the bestest thing ever.

So how does one find their way to The Plough. I ended up in A Plough the last time, walking round the city with my pal the last time. But that was some dingy wee football pub and I got some glares. I reckon that's not the Barbelith boozer of choice. Going to be great to see everyone I've not met yet.

Atom:

Scrabulous:

You're missing out on this. Maybe not as well staged, but with a similar amount of energy coming off the stage I hope.

Although their map is slightly incorrect, it's here, just round the corner.

Right. I've been to the Bloomsbury bowling lanes before, so I know the area a little. I can see Tottenham Court Road Underground in my head, so I don't expect it to be much bother.

The weekend is beginning to consolidate now. This is getting exciting.

It's not really anywhere near the Bowling Lanes, but it is just two minutes away from Tottenham Court Road tube. Out the tube, find the Dominion, walk round the corner the Dominion is on (New Oxford Street) straight down for 5 minutes or so, past the McDonalds, and up to Museum Street. Down there, past Atlantis Books and The Plough is on your left.

What time are the crew congregating from and to?

Yes, I was going to ask that. I will be in town anyway from about midday, but I'd assume four or five.
