Not that I agree with corecase, but if there are lions in todays world, why do you suppose there are also wolves?
Simple answer: they occupy different ecological or geographical niches. The same is *theoretically* possible with dinosaurs, but 65 million years is a pretty looooong time, and I have trouble believing that any species which did survive it would continue to walk the extinction line for the next 500 thousand-odd centuries.
