It has been suggested that a good way to avoid conflict might be to assume that whoever you are responding to posted with the best of intentions - that is, to imagine and ascribe the best possible reasons behind what you are reading. According such, if one thinks one could be wrong about a negative reading, it might in the interests of harmony be best to assume that one is, and to keep the thread clear therefore of negative speculation about the motivations of others, thus leaving it dedicated to profiling and welcoming those new members who feel the urge to tell us about themselves

My heart, she explody in SQUEE, when I read these words belonging to Haus.
So here I squeefully proclaim HUZZAH FOR HAUS! and not in the barbe-quoting thread.

Saturn's nod
08:15 / 30.05.07
interval, you came from the beyond and you have won my affection in a single thread. Particularly, but not only, with your charming haiku.

Tryphena Absent
10:35 / 30.05.07
I recall a time when I would have fallen off a chair laughing if Haus wrote that. It's a nostalgic world we're living in.

Just to let you know that today is officially the first day of Stoatie-crushing-season (because year-round crushing would be unhealthy).

Blake Head
17:20 / 06.06.07
So soon after the last crush but - I would move the stars for Quantum...

I crush Saturn's Nod for so many, many reasons, but most recently for this post and this one.

It's a practise/preach thang, isn't it?

ONLY NICE THINGS
10:28 / 07.06.07
Not really, no. It's a "most effective way not to clog Barbelith up with bollocks" thing, primarily.

Sibelian 2.0

I heart quantum...

Our Lady Has Left the Building
12:52 / 07.06.07
So do I. Quantum saved my life by pushing me out of the way of a speeding car. Or did he push me into the path of a speeding car? Alas, so much is unclear. Luckily, thanks to Brighton's baroque system of traffic jams that pass for roads it wasn't going fast enough to do me much damage.

Zippy/id entity crushage should be pretty much the basic level of operations for any right-thinking Barbeloid, but I extra crush him right now for this post, in which he cogently expresses everything that gets up my nose about plastic tricksters. Huzzah.

Entrants, please ensure you have shown your rough working out when handing in your completed Barbecrush form.

For myself, I Barbecrush Papers in general for being at once lucid, rational and sensible and yet excited and engaged in zir frequent contributions to Comics and many other parts of the board, and in specific for zir endearingly fraternal advice to Stoatie just recently on topic of second dates. Papers knows picnic etiquette!

I Barbecrush alas for unstinting efforts in the Feminism 101 thread and out of it to ensure that male-ID'd posters to this board are fully cognizant of their unexamined assumptions. The full awakening of Barbelith to its debt to feminism over the last year or more has been an unreservedly good thing and I think alas deserves a major share of the credit.

Transfer, i was being silly.

I am teh trickta, you are teh grayface. Slink away in pallor and seriousness, oh grayface! etc.

I still crush Boboss tho. Boboss is awesome. He's also rather beautiful.

Hallo, Paper Spaceboy
03:29 / 27.06.07
Aw, shucks, Transfer. That's sweet of you, considering I feel like my interaction with the old Lith today had all the nuance of a hammer hitting the keyboard. A hammer used by our friend, Homo Habilis. Tomorrow, Grunk make fire!

Today, I'm barbecrushing on Bizarro Bad Touch, for quoting Futurama in the no-spoiler Doc Who thread. It's a small thing, but bouncing of the third kind always makes me a little weak in the knees.

I crush Roy Medallion and Kit-Kat Club for putting up with me since Friday. You guys rock. *grin*

Your pardon, .tramps, I half wondered if that was a reference to something I hadn't read, but I'll now pass my faux pas off as a stern admonishment to newer members. The many fine qualities of the Boboss certainly are not to be disputed, of course.

08:12 / 27.06.07
Tramp and Transfer, just for the record I reckon you two are pretty great too. Couple of my favourites, you are.

(I'm so sterotypically English, Barbecrushes never fail to make me slightly embarrassed - but in a good way)

I barbecrush everybody who gave me level-headed advice in the Misery thread. Especially Flyboy. I've had my problems with Flyboy, but he seemed to genuinely... care? I just needed to vent and people gave me such rational calm responses. It was exactly what I needed. So Flyboy, from me to you:

alas
20:18 / 07.07.07
Awwww. Thanks transfer! I'm not English but I'm of Scandinavian-American immigrant stock (think Ingmar Bergman without all the gushiness...heh heh). So, whilst I, too, blush, I also internally "squee!"

I crush Haus, for just being so damned dependable here. And new people for liking this grumpy old quasi-dysfunctional place enough to get on here and stick around.

Triplets
20:41 / 08.07.07
All of the big brains over in the All-Star Superman thread are being mini-crushed right now (notably Papers and SiliconDream). Everyone who wants to see the Comics forum firing on all cylinders should check it out, particularly pagina 39er.

Hallo, Paper Spaceboy
20:44 / 08.07.07
SiliconDream keeps saying things in that thread that make me want to suck out hir brains and live in hir world.

Hey! Save me some medula oblongateaux!

It wouldn't be a half-bad idea to go through the ASS thread at the end and copy/paste the best posts into a seperate document or blog. If only for my own personal enjoyment.

Posting crushes has reminded me that my heart flutters over Talks to Strangers for this.

Hallo, Paper Spaceboy
21:30 / 08.07.07
Now, Bad Touch, I'm crushing on you for brain-related cake puns. Fancy a honeymoon on Jupiter, amid the icy space-mushrooms?

The Falcon
22:40 / 08.07.07
Given the ringworm-riddled status of the wiki, alas like a dear friend who you can no longer bear the sight of, it might be an idea if we did a group-blog of some sort. I'm into it if you are.

Hallo, Paper Spaceboy
23:17 / 28.07.07
I am filled with enormous barbecrushage for Live Things in You / Talks to Strangers / Mordant for being "drunk as a bag of wasps." Her angry post is so awesomely beautiful.

I'm such a Barbefanboy.

I crush the Papers right back, but I hope y'all read the link. Or Gandalf won't bring you any Xmas presents.

This Sunday
03:47 / 29.07.07
I'm barbecrushing on Papers for being such a barbefanboy, as it were. For the optimism and the impetus. Actually, truth told, I'm barbecrushing on all the lateshift likelies of late.

This is the problem with my barbecrushes, I can't stop with just one.

Also, yes, Live Things in You/TtS, definitely barbecrushworthy angry posts. Many of them. And some great not-angry ones, too.
