I just discovered an essay praising dissatisfaction, which amused for a little while, but I might have to break out my super new dvd the private life of plants next, unless any of you are inclined to be entertaining.

Still, it's only two days since I had decent sleep, so I am not yet completely crazy.

Can anyone remind me how to do principle component analysis? If I have a database with vector fields, how do I go about producing eigenvectors for sets of vectors? Oh, decomposition, right?

Okay here's my plan of action:

Thirty minutes writing to get anything off my brain that needs writing out. Fresh bedding onto the bed, drop of lavender and majoram on pillow. Light candles; switch electric lights off. Bath with more lavender, majoram, and rose oils, and soothing thoughts. Hot water bottle. Measure of single malt. Hypnotic induction of restful state.

I've now spent four days down the pub, usually from about 2pm onwards. That's all the first four days of the year. And it's not even a good pub. Hey, I'm certainly a reliable drunk.
