I'm sure Prince Harry could grow a beard if ze wanted to.
What I'm confused about, 33, is what you'd rather have these male role models, that you seem to feel so let down by, be doing? James Blunt has been trained to kill, has by now, presumably, a fairly impressive series of notches on his bed post, perhaps a couple of fast cars in the garage, and, for definite, a beard. Now granted, his music may seem a little effeminate to you, you'd possibly prefer his material to sound more like Black Sabbath's, and, fair enough, something like 'War Pigs' is more overtly 'guy-ish' than say, 'You're Beautiful.' But then again, Black Sabbath had long hair, wore make-up and often seemed as if they might have been dressed in women's clothing.
Your idea that rockers'n'goths are a neglected last bastion of masculinity in today's feminising culture seems slightly weird, really, given the emphasis on androgyny in said sub-culture. |
