Heh. Just after digging up the Barbelith thread on the show and it seems that the simultaneous irritation/enjoyment aspect is pretty common. Of course, there's the large group of people that seem to loathe it as well. I think I deserve to watch a gorgeously shallow show once in a while and in the absence of Ally McBeal for the past however many years, I think I've found a new one.

Although, at the end of the series, I predict the need to McMurder most of the main cast..

you around for carnival this year, dude?

I'm working on the weekend... probably doing Snakes On A Plane with work people on the Monday, so probably not. How long are you around for? If you're still around Tuesday daytime some beers would be fun (suddenly realises this hould probably be a PM but can't be arsed to cut'n'paste...)

It's not really late late here, but it is dark, I am up and I'm on. And I'm drinking. White wine. Spanish. 'S ok.

So, "Hey," everyone who's still up...

Ah, noting the elapsed GMT time in the margin, I guess that should be "anyone who's up." Anyone?

Ah, yippee. I was just trying to get my spouse's new work laptop to hook up to our wireless network, but have been utterly unsuccessful. And the tech support person I called had a voice like a thin, rattling piece of tin in a range that only dogs can hear.

That sounds..wrong. So very very wrong. Tech support should always sound like Anthony Stewart Head. They never do, but in my mind that's what they should sound like.

i.e., time for more wine!!!!1!

In a completely unrelated story, I'm checking on my friend's cats, and I'm going to have to tell him that his cat pooped on the carpet, and, I think, also pissed there. Picked up the poop, but couldn't tell exactly where the piss smell was coming from....

I hate the smell of cat piss in the evening. It smells like...failure.

I'm totally with you on how tech voices should sound. This young woman, and boy did she sound young (which means I am really getting old) had a voice that made me want to just scream, "This CAN'T be your real voice! Just lower it into human range, please!"

And, I don't know much, but she kept telling us to turn on the wireless switch. I am SURE that what needed to happen is that we needed to re-configure the...oh, never mind.

DRINK! WHAT WE NEED TO DO IS DRINK!

hehehe... yeah. I had a cat who, near the end, wouldn't attempt to fit himself all the way into his litterbox..the hallway would reek and it did, on one occasion, leak through the floor and drip down through the living room ceiling. Not exactly nice. Took a good bleach-mopping to get rid of the smell.

I also agree with you on the wine situation. I shall make amends to my liver on another evening.

What are you doing beyond drinking wine? I start teaching again tomorrow, which is a painful fact of my life, right now.

What do you teach? Why is that painful? I think you may need a crash course in 'Teaching is great 101' I suggest watching Stand and Deliver, The Dead Poets Society and maybe even Mr. Holland's Opus; although I cant honestly recomend it as I've only seen the trailer and it looks very "Up with teachers". Also perhaps the movie where Sean Connery plays a teacher, if only to hear him say "You're the man now, dog"
