I understand that an author gets a royalty whenever their books are checked out of the library. As for reading them in-store, I'm not sure that's regarded as a legitimate way to indulge, either: just a couple of weeks ago someone was politely asked to leave Forbidden Planet in Croydon because they'd just been stood there working their way through the monthly issues. |
