STOATIE LIEKS CHOCOLATE MILK

Let's just do without the "pa rum pa pum pum", shall we?

I think I mentioned this upthread (but I'm scared to reread it cos I know that therein lurks much Little Drummer Boy horribleness) but Zorak on the Space Ghost Christmas Special is sure to get your inner child to, erm, "throw the horns", as it were.

Couldn't help it. Sorry.

'Space Ghost Christmas' is the biz, tho. It kept me warm on a cold, cold Christmas spent alone years ago.

"Christmas is cancelled. Go to bed."

Wish I could remember some of Brak's lines, but can't. I'm now compelled to find my VHS tape of that and watch it tonight.

Jeez. Is that the poster campaign for Werther's original this year?

Oh, and Listen to Low's christmas album

- Don't do it. I bought it one Xmas and I damn near shot myself.

Oh, yes, it´s Christmas time!

Outside it´s 27°C, and I´m happily munching on the first Spiced jam-filled Lebkuchen cakes coated with chocolate (29%) of the season.

christmas-wauzi wants to know: "Where are my sweets?"

As someone, who doesn´t engage in end of the year festivities, I can bite into my heartshaped biscuits without fear of Santa (see picture above dachshund santa) reproaching me for it. Hmmm, how I missed these sweets! And in march at the latest, it will be over again: "best before 01.03.07."

Ok. What kind of sweets do I get for the axe?

Puppy head and parts.

Hm, I have to discuss this offer with christmas wauzi first, as he´s very knowledgeable in all matters of sweets and axes.

Well, mostly axes now. And it's a physical knowledge. A knowledge that cuts deep, you might say, yes, cuts deep.

Oh, wauzi saw that movie and strongly disagrees. Such grudgery and cutlery so close to merry christmas festivities!

But do not fret, christmas wauzi knows your hidden desires, and will soon raise your spirits by humping your leg til december 24th.

Wauzi's doing that?

Whew. For a minute there, I thought it was summer camp all over again....

Christmas Wauzi strikes again! Prepare for bruises on your calves!

It is not even september yet, but my grocery store is selling christmas sweets by the pound. The four best months for sweets have officially started. After eight months of abstinence, spiced jam-filled Lebkuchen cakes coated with chocolate taste so good!

Anyone else´s stores ready to get into the holiday spirit yet? Has the commercialism of santa and his ilk reared its ugly head in your neighbourhood yet?

Eek! A Freek!

We in the Americas must first navigate safely through Back-To-School, then Halloween, then Thanksgiving before Santa shows up, although he makes small appearences in some big-box stores around now.
And then there's the all-year-round Christmas Shoppe(s) popular in these parts...

Hallo, Paper Spaceboy

Damn, now I have to investigate the possibility of getting rumballs soon! O, how I crave them. They're fun but time-consuming to make.

For a couple of years now, Halloween has become more and more popular here. I don´t remember when it started (ten years ago, there was 0.0 % Halloween spirit around these parts), but in the last three years, I´ve noticed the orange and black commercial items in shop windows.

And Thanksgiving will never make it´s way over the pond. It is way too close to the big C for companies to have any interest in getting people into this as well.

Don't be too sure: Another cash grab is another cash grab...

Did you know that giving Easter Gifts (Not merely chocolate: but toys, clothes, cards, DVD's, etc...) is being encouraged and embraced over here?

Anything that can be marketed will be marketed.

Oh, I didn´t know Easter was only recently commercialized in America. Here, it´s big. Chocolate bunnies and egg shaped sweets filled with marzipan, alcohol, nougat, etc. Will be sold come january. I hope, you will also get the chance to sample some high quality chocolate easter eggs!

edit: but here, it´s mostly sweets for easter, not so much of the other stuff. The Easter Bunny brings toys too for the kids, though.
