I am trying to be gentle with them. At least, I try to be gentle in my comments and fair in my grades. That's the goal, anyway. If anything, the grades are inflated.
I think it's the insidious effect of consumer culture. "The Customer Is Always Right." Well, no, in this case, the student is often wrong. Alas! So we're gentle, but not in ways that are ultimately very helpful, I think.
But then maybe that's easy for me to say. I do hope things go well for you. And that someone else joins us to take some pressure off our response-times...! |
