Well, who needs good taste either?

Whatever happened to Leon Trotsky?

How old was he when he died?

I used to love Westerns until I was shown Akira Kurosawa. Then I felt cheated.

I reckon Sergio Leone could hold his own against Akira Kurosawa in a straight fight,

It would probably take a very long time, though.

Wasn't that tried in a samurai western a couple of times? With Charles Bronson and Toshiro Mifune? Ah yes, as Red Sun. I haven't seen it in years, but I seem to recall it wasn't great. It may well have taken a long time though.

Movie finished. Must sleep. Goodnight.

Well, g'night, Stoat. Don't let the bedbugs bite. Or Gnaw. That's the worst, the gnawing.

Katana versus Six-shooter? I imagine a swift fight Indiana Jones style.

Really should get some petrol but I'm too tired.
Good night all.

Yeah, it doesn't seem like it would be that long a battle, does it?

I'd forgotten just how unpleasant the end of Soldier Blue is. The music still seems inappropriate rather than ironic, all those fluts and strings are jsut soooo twee it doesn't throw the horror into sharp relief: instead it devalues it somehow. But it's still really grim.

That's enough for me. Night all.

Anyone up?

Triplets

Did Bob Dylan make adverts? Doesn't surprise me, I suppose. Seems like an odd choice of company to represent...

Well, earlier in his career he was asked if he had to endorse a product, what would it be? His answer was "Ladies' undergarments."

So he got his wish.

Still, Victoria's Secret.

I don't know a better spelling of "sell out."

I know it's not actually late, but I'm gonna be away for the next week (going to Hamburg to watch Tango-Mango's band) so I thought I'd bid adieu to all the LS crowd. Shift safely, boys and girls. And remember- NINE PAGES.

Triplets
08:14 / 14.09.05
NOOOOO

alas
01:07 / 15.09.05
Is anyone feeling shifty tonight?

alas
01:19 / 15.09.05
Sometimes I like to just sit here in the late shift and sing to myself. Where is Keggers? Where is Triplets? Where are the lateshifts of years past?

Oh, how I mourn their loss!

Anyone want brownies?

electric monk
02:35 / 15.09.05
What kind of brownies?

electric monk
03:15 / 15.09.05
You, sir or madam, are a brownie tease.

There.

I've said it.

Sekhmet
01:17 / 16.09.05
Well, I figured if no one said anything for half an hour, it probably meant no takers...

And in answer to your question, slightly burnt ones with chocolate chunks in. They're rather good actually, if not mind-altering.

Goodness Gracious Meme
01:38 / 16.09.05
gosh. I'm rather drunk. How is everyone else?

Sounds good to me.

Is anyone still up?

02:53 / 16.09.05
Oop. Too late again. Neither brownies nor shifting for Monk.

Back to work!

sTe
01:27 / 17.09.05
Rite!

Brownies = brubbish (typo but I like it), in my tiny narrow minded world - too damn sweet, need some savory-ness to rescue me from semi-certain "badness" in t'morning.

Anyone up? Or just me staggered home from a fine evevings drinking, dancing and etc (possibly ting, but hard to be certain) ...

sTe
02:03 / 17.09.05
Just me then - 'laters' everyone...

alas
02:05 / 17.09.05
I'm here but just running off to bed--too late for you i fear. Good night, all!

alas
02:12 / 17.09.05
Alas! Too late even to have a late late talk with sTe. Oh well. g'night.

Yeah, but I'm here, off and on for the next few hours.

23:49 / 19.09.05
Yay, Rose. And there was me trying to figure out a way of playing poker in a lateshift, too. I could pm you a couple of cards if only I could be bothered to scan them.

I’m not here for long, either. Just fancied a dance.

Solitaire Rose as Tom Servo
23:50 / 19.09.05
Well, I've only got a 7 + 8 suited, but I'm going all in.

or am I lying?

Bed Head
23:55 / 19.09.05
Damn, that’s right, you’re a professional poker duuuude. You talk about the cards and use proper poker player terminology. I was thinking more of having a couple of cards to hold onto while wittering on about root vegetables, pirates, This Film I Just Saw, whatever.

So, 'scuse my ineptness, but heck, I'm all in, too. I think.

Solitaire Rose as Tom Servo

Oh man...I didn't look at my cards right, and I have a pair of Cowboys, pre-flop. I sure hope your cards hold up. Good luck.

sucker

Oldest rule of poker: If you look around the table and don't know who the sucker is, it's you.

I have learned that rule way too many times.

Bed Head
00:05 / 20.09.05
I knew that already! Doesn't mean I'm any clearer about what I've I just done.

I thought poker was all about dips and beer.
