JLA had most of the infodump of 'The Invisibles' prechewed for easier digestion and put in an interesting supertights framework.
Vinamarama's death stuff? The dance/not-dance sequence?
And, 'WE3' gave us the whole not-suit deal, where animals wise up past humans and a cat does catlike things. Therein lies wisdom. And dead mice. And people. And more dancing, this time, between panels.
Even avoiding any metaphysical, philosophical, or existential elements, there's still an amazing amount of technical innovation in all three of those series.
And then there's 'Seaguy', which you don't have to think about to enjoy, but if you do, if you pause and look at some of the progressions, at some of those layouts, it's very good to you. |
