I'd imagine (not having done quite that, but applied for and got onto a UK pre-art college level course in massive scruff. This was years ago, mind you) that similar would be fine.
If you did feel like dressing up, for your own confidence/'yay me' factor, I'd do so, but in an casual/distinctive way.
(suits, as I'm sure you know, unless you really like wearing them, aren't neccessary. Do wear, if you like them, though.)
