ok....if you guys are interested in the idea of an ad hoc barbelith chat room, you could go here to find out about IRC and click on a link to download an appropriate IRC client, then go on the server that I'm currently on. I don't use IRC much, so I figured I'd pick a server randomly (does someone know more about this than I do???? I know you do) and I picked BDSM-net.

a few years ago, my dad signed up for an awful ISP (which I'm still using...fuck $^!#) and thus I began using it to get onto the internet, even though I didn't live with him. Anyway, so I found that I wasn't able to visit adult sites.....as well as a hell of a lot of other sites, including my own website (which I no longer have). for months I thougt my dad had set it up so that the isp would block my access, until one day I finally asked him (can you imagine? "uh, dad, I'm having trouble getting to porn sites....") and he said that he didn't block my access. I recall that I went in and set up a new member under his account just to see what it would do, and indeed it automatically blocked access to stuff. wtf? I'm of age. anyway....so the moral of the story is I can look at porn now. wait, no, the moral of the story is that filters suck. sorry....
