Hello all.

Fine. Be like that. I'll just take advantage of your conspicuous abscence to take all the Strawberry Cremes out of the box of chox on the hall table.

STOATIE LIEKS CHOCOLATE MILK
23:37 / 14.05.05
Hello. Just been to a lovely party (which I thought you were meant to be attending, Mr Brigade... HMMM?) which was unfortunately in Sarf London so I had to leave early so I could get home (things to do tomorrow, y'see)... just watched tonight's Dr Who which I'd taped (and it was ace) and am having some food prior to sleeping. So, y'know, I probably won't be hanging around long, but I thought I should say hello.
Hello!

Ah. I've just noticed the time. Mr Brigade may well be partying on down as we speak. I apologise for having called into question his party heartiness.

Is it "party hearty" or "party hardy"? I always wondered. In the local accent it's pronounced exactly the same way.

That's an interesting one... being a Brit, I've always gone with "hearty" (actually, I haven't... I don't think I've ever used the phrase before in my life, but I'll just hope nobody noticed) because it rhymes better. But yes... I must think further on this.

Right. Off to bed. Maybe a last couple of cigarettes while I finish reading today's comic purchases (I have the new Papa Midnite and a Hellbkazer trade left) then it's sleepy for Stoatie.
G'night!

I thought everyone hated strawberry crèmes?! Listening to some Spiritualized, in need of mellowness. I’m getting old, go out on Friday, have to come down on Sat with a few beers, and Sunday devoid of beer, just to be ready for the working week ahead. WORK SUCKS!

Hear, hear.

And Mordant, you're more than welcome to all the strawberry cremes. I get all the caramels, though.

I've spent all day gardening. Getting ready for a nice evening of beer, fish on the grill, and classic Star Wars videos (in which it will be found that Han shoots first.)

And Lateshifting, of course.

Salutations to you, Keggers, what’s the rumpus?

Saint Keggers
00:49 / 15.05.05
The rumpus? I haven't heard that word in years!! No rumpus here. Quite rumpus free.

Strange Machine Vs The Virus with Shoes

‘Rumpus’ is just a phrase I picked up from Coen brothers film ‘Millers Crossing’. Just means ‘what happening’.

I always knew it to mean noise or bruhaha; commotion.
In our house we had a room called the rumpus room. It was filled with toys. Ah StretchArmstrong, how I stabbed you well.

I think that the lilting Irish tones of Gabriel Byrne can render even the most offending words benign. Anyway, back to beer talk, I have non. Currently drinking tea, kind of brings me back to those late night club days, spilling out of a venue and searching for even the most basic of stimulants.

Same here... Im downing mexican spiced coffee. Oh joy.

I suggest a new strategy... Let the Wookiee win.

Beer + Star Wars = Happiness.

I blame it on the fact that we have warm cosy beds to go to, and ‘late’ is different in different time zones. Also at weekends, time shifts: at 6am on a weekday I need to get up for work, at 6am on the weekend I'm getting ready to go to bed.

Cosy warm beds cannot win against the Empire!

Saying hello, and waving goodbye, fast as Kid Flash drunk and on his way back home on a school night evening, with no trousers on.

Thanks for the whiplash, Alex.

Tell you what, I always read back in Lateshift threads and think, "My, it's so active and has such lovely banter! I wish I had time to Lateshift!" But invariably the only time I can do it is on weekends, when everyone else in the world has something more interesting to do. So there are a couple of sluggish posters who may or may not be drunk, depending on the time, but mostly it's people who say "Hello all!" and then one or two posts later it's "Off to bed!" and so the whole thread is just people slowly popping in and out and hello/goodbyes. It's like watching water boil in slow motion, only marginally less interesting.

Sekhmet

Well...

Off to bed, then.

( Sheesh. Figure you go off on a rant an ssomebody will notice, but nooooo... )

Drat typing anyway.

Laters, Barbelith.
