And on a similar tip to Strix's...

Not just cute as hell but hard as fuck, ladies and gentlemen, I give you The Honey Badger, the world's most fearless animal.

And...
the New Guinea Singing Dog. (My new favourite animal- heard 'em on the radio, and boy, do they sing!)

Check out all o' his majesty!

Singing? Really? How(l)? I need some kind of freaky text impression.

There was a documentary on radio 4 a couple of days ago... it should be on their site. They sound kind of like wolves howling, but less stressed-out. And sometimes they make a weird chirping noise.

I'm dogsitting at the moment... the minute I can get her to pose for a photo rather than looking all embarrassed and hiding I'll try to post it on here...

Not that i'm insanely easily influenced by cuteness or anything, but the pictures in the original post led me to a google search about keeping badgers as pets, which led to this. I must admit I'm inspired...

Those of you who are Livejournal users should join the baaaaabyanimals community, from whence I got this. (Whence is okay there isn't it?)

What are they? They're lovely!

William Sack

They are not animals. It's an elaborately coiffed merkin.

Olulabelle
12:06 / 29.04.05
That's outrageous. Who would want a merkin with two stuffed heads on it?

William Sack
12:11 / 29.04.05
I don't see a problem with the 2 heads, Olulabelle, but who would want a ginger merkin?

Olulabelle

A Fergie lookalike?

Olulabelle
12:20 / 29.04.05
But no, no, no. Stop-it. You can't turn the 'Lovely Pictures for Haus' thread into one about ginger merkins. That's just seven shades of wrong.

You're right of course, so here's another baby tapir.

olulabelle;

What are they? They're lovely!

Looks like Red Pandas to me. Very very cute in real life.

I though they were some sort of raccoons.

Whatever they are, I want one!

Yes, they are red pandas, or firefoxes (which is why they turn up a lot on the net, apart from because they're just AAAAAAAAAAAH).

My local wildlife park has a couple of adult ones, they grow to the size of a medium dog with short legs. Very good at climbing as well.........and fond of cheesy biscuits if some child throws them in.

And for added ahhhhh factor they look so sweet then curled up asleep together with their tails wrapped around themselves.

Squeeble. Tiny baby firefoxes. And tapirs. And the heroic wuffly honey badger.

Apparently Virginia and Leonard Woolf used to pretend to be marmots. I can't say I blame them.

Red Pandas are at their cutest when they eat. They pick up and eat fruit with one hand just like people.
