Rich Johnston is claiming that Frank Miller will be writing the DC All-Stars Batman to be drawn by Jim Lee (replacing Jeph Loeb who ducked out at the last moment to do a Marvel exclusive contract, much to DC's surprise).

Fans on net boards everywhere are saying "Will this be the Dark Knight Strikes Again Frank Miller or the Dark Knight Returns/Batman Year One Frank Miller?"

fingers crossed for the former. the irony in the original dark knight seemed rather laboured when i reread it recently.

Comics aren't dying. Comic Store Retailers aren't dying - Travelling man in Leeds has expanded to fill another lot and does great buisness with goths and hipsters (not suprising, it's in the Corn Exchange).

MARVEL and DC are dying, and we need to stop thinking in terms of those companies being "the biz".

I wonder what will happen to DC's All-Stars once Morrison's Super-Year ends and Frank Miller's 6-issue arc ends? I guess they'll have to keep stacking the books with really big A-list talent...

I've heard rumors of an All-Star Wonder Woman coming, too - maybe drawn by Adam Hughes. Especially of the much-hinted at, much-rumored Joss Whedon-directed WW movie comes to pass...DC could have its 3 major characters in films again, all at roughly the same time, and they'd need new reader-friendly comics to back 'em up.

This All stars line up is great! This may be a lot off topic, buuut anyone know what marvel are doing to counteract DC this year. I am generally a Marvel hater, and its just interesting to know what they plan on doing, when DC seems to be making some good decisions.

There are rumors (more likely just hopeful speculation at this point) that Marvel can get Joss & John C. to stay on ASTONISHING for another full year.

And don't forget Bryan Singer and his co-writers from the X-Movies doing a year of Ultimate X-Men...

I think Adam Hughes has grown into quite a good artist, he's not ALL T&A, that's just what he gets hired to do most of the time. I bet his sequential art/storytelling skills are pretty decent, and I imagine if he did a WW book it wouldn't be a T&A book.

and I imagine if he did a WW book it wouldn't be a T&A book.

Why? I mean, I know they want a broad audience but, c'mon, if they can get away with it (even if it's just a little), why would they not?
