Na-ah.
Scones are a whole DIFFERENT plate of wonderfulness. They possibly deserve their own thread, although maybe we should wait till summer when it's outsidey-eating weather. And when we've got some jam and clotted cream handy.

Let's not get side-tracked by scones just yet. It sets off an entire vision of warm, sunny days, with just the lightest of breezes, possibly off the sea. White tablecloths set with fine china tea services, plates piled high with all sorts of delectable cakes and warm fruity scones. Not forgetting of course yellow salty butter, gobbets of thick strawberry jam, and lashings of clotted cream, soft, pillowy, mouth wateringly yummy.

Mmmm...

This may be considered deviant activity, but in addition to crumpets dripping with butter, I also like them with lashings of Philadelphia cream cheese, full fat of course. Possibly with a slice of ham and grainy mustard too. The options are endless.

Mmmmmmm....

I've recently discovered beans and cheese melted on top, with a dash of wholegrain mustard. Some refer to this practice as the-work-of-the-devil and have even begun to refer to me as 'heathen'. I, however, rest safe in my sleep knowing that the perfect snack is no more than 3 minutes away.

And if you use pikelets it results in a near perfect sandwich .

I am drinking a darjeeling called 'Chamong Estate' second flush, from India (but of course).

I recommend this tea to you.

I just bought some Kukicha Tea, or Japanese Roasted Twig tea. Yummy, nutty, soothing.

I highly recommend this tea.
