Oh blah blah vitrol and energy could be better used elsewhere... By the same token, I could say "PatrickMM could have used his energy and enthusiasm to better effect than starting a thread to reassess something that's shit. I'm not asking him to pretend he doesn't like it" - do you see?

Oh you're so clever, spinning me round with your words.

Well, enjoy hating it, enjoy ranting and raving till you're blue in the face.
I tend to not bother with things I don't like... so I won't bother with you. Saves my energy and virtiol for something more worthy.

Even though I don't agree with it, I don't have that much of a problem with people ranting about the later seasons of Buffy, because I've done the same thing about the last couple of seasons of The X-Files. If you just said, I hate Buffy, it all sucks, that'd be a waste of time, but if you really loved the earlier seasons, and were disappointed in what happened later, I can see the need to vent.

But, I do feel that people can get so caught up in not liking the season, they don't see all the good things that are done. The musical isn't the only good thing in the season.

And that probably sums it up better than anything else. Seven years of somebody making the one same complaint, with the last four refusing to provide that somebody with any relief from it, nor a reason to stop making it.

But, season six is very different from the others in this respect, because she's actually had a taste of what it is to not be the slayer, and not have to worry, and as a result, she goes into an actual depression, rather than just bitching. Season six has far less of her saying I don't want to be the slayer than two or three does. Also, she does get relief from her complaints, through her relationship with Spike. Six is the only season that focuses more on Buffy as a person, rather than as the slayer. She's no longer trying to be a normal girl, she just wants to feel something. Buffy of season six has a lot more going on than Buffy in the other seasons, and that's part of the reason I like the year so much.
