I'd just like to say: Grant talked about a LOT of other things in this interview, and very very little (if indeed, any) of it was in a despairing tone.
Ah, but if you had read the Gododdin, you would be able to understand the interview more clearly, and would thus be able to detect the DESPAIR. Try this for starters:
Gredyf gwr oed gwas
Gwrhyt am dias
Meirch mwth myngvras
A dan vordwyt megyrwas
Ysgwyt ysgauyn lledan
Ar bedrein mein vuan
Kledyuawr glas glan
Ethy eur aphan
Ny bi ef a vi
Cas e rof a thi
Gwell gwneif a thi
Ar wawt dy uoli
Kynt y waet elawr
Nogyt y neithyawr
Kynt y vwyt y vrein
Noc y argyurein
Ku kyueillt ewein
Kwl y uot a dan vrein
Marth ym pa vro
Llad un mab marro
There. Despair getting any clearer? If not, you are probably suffering from some sort of thalamic disorder.
(A note for readers. This thread is not primarily concerned with the full content of the article in Arthur in which George Morrison is interviewed - that is addressed in another thread. This thread is specifically about the scientific fact that schizophrenics cannot process metaphor. I'm not *entirely* sure what it's doing in the comics forum...) |
