STOATIE LIEKS CHOCOLATE MILK

All set for a night in with beer and missing-Biscy-misery (yes, Anna, I know I said I wouldn't just stay in and mope, and I meant it, but I reckon I probably would have despite myself) and then Tango-Mango and another friend turned up with beer and non-misery! I even dug out the old puppy pictures and didn't cry.
I don't think I'm ever gonna stop missing that dog, but right now remembering good stuff seems like a much better plan of action than being sad. She always used to freak out when I was upset anyway, so that'd be a really shit way of commemorating her death.

I'm so sorry, Stoatie. All my love and good thoughts to you, buddy. I just had to put down my childhood dog, my pal, in early July- I just think about all the love and good times we shared, and it's fine. Dogs are some of the best friends I've ever had.

Here's to Biscuit, Stoatie.

Sorry to bump this- I'm really just doing it as a remembrance thing, I guess.

Given that she died on the night of the 1st/2nd, I decided to commemorate it on the 1st, and remember the last day she was alive, rather than the first day she was dead, if that makes any sense. And then not bump the thread until the 2nd was over and I hadn't actually dissolved in misery. Which was cool, really.

Was weirdly nice, though- I took Sheena to Biscy's grave, and, given that Sheena's 10 1/2 months' worth of complete mentalist energy, she suddenly got (and yes, I'm sure I was imagining most of this, but don't stop me, OK?) strangely chilled out. Chilled out enough to stop eating things and barking and wanting to play with stuff while I spent a few minutes talking to a tree, which is the kind of thing that she'd normally have no patience with. Fuck, she didn't even try to eat the plastic flowers a friend of mine put there on Christmas Day to mark the spot. She actually just stood there and waited for me to do my stuff. Which really isn't in her nature as yet. It was really cool.

Anyway, bumped a bit late, for reasons described above, but it's an extra memorial, and Biscy deserves as many memorials as I can think of.

That's sweet. Sounds like, on some level, Sheena got it.

It sounds like Sheena definitely got it.

Dude, sounds like Sheena was totally tuned in there. She knew what was what.

Aren't dogs great?

As far as I'm concerned, they're the best animals ever.

I wonder why they hang out with us, sometimes. I'm not entirely sure we deserve them.

No, I don't think we deserve them either, but they make me want to try.

Yeah. They really are inspirational.

And yeah, I get that some people get this from cats, too. But me, it's dogs.

Okay, humans probably taught me the most useful things I know, like language and stuff. But dogs have possibly taught me some of the BEST things.

Stoat: you, Sheena, and Biscuits all sound like my kind of creatures. You're a credit to each other and your respective species, here and in the afterlife.

All the best.

They see something in us, I think, whether we see it or not, and love us like heck because of it. I try not to question it.

Raising my glass to Sheena, Stoats, and to you.

Hey, Stoats, pass on my salute to Sheena as well. My dogs are curled up at my feet while I procrastinate, yet again, on the work I should be doing....

Well, it's three years today. And I was planning to go up and visit her grave, but the police have sealed off the cemetery again. Arse.

I eventually did manage to go and see her grave, and I cried a bit.

But I bought Sheena loads of cool stuff to eat- it seemed like a good way to mark the day, and now I feel much better.

You take Sheena along with you?

Take care, Stoats.

No, Sheena was at home with a lampshade on her head- she got spayed a couple of days ago. Was a shame, I wanted to take her up there with me, but it was when I was taking her for a walk that the graveyard was closed.

Now, if only I could listen to ANY MUSIC AT ALL without it making me cry, that would be really cool.
