i got the 144 "gifted"... last night i took the Tickle one and got a 131, i found that IQ test to be a lot more like the ones they made me take as a kid (to make sure i wasn't dumb, they were yet to discover the lovelyness of diagnosing ADD) so i have a feeling that i'm a lot more 131 than 144... back in the day i always got arround 135 anyway

but isn't IQ all about adaptabilty? the quickness to figure something out &/or notice a patern in a minimal amount of time rather than a meter of facts you know? or the ability to do some quick algebra?

I got 114 on the IQ test that's in this thread, then i did it again and got 116. I've just gone and done the Tickle one and i got 131. It said : Your Intellectual Type is Insightful Linguist. Haha, ok then.

Hmm... so how exactly are IQ tests 'culturally based'? Am I really that different from a Japanese or Sweedish person? Why should one culture's logic and pattern recognition skills be any different from another's?

Aaaaand... If the tests are designed to justify racism and sexism, then it follows that the original test designers were able to discern specific differences between different races/sexes and weight the questions accordingly, which seems to mean that certain characteristics are intrinsic to certain races and genders.

It only goes on what the test makers assume knowledge to be. Like i said a Shaman who lived in a jungle would get a shit score, but that wouldn't make that person thick, that person would probably know a lot more worthwhile knowledge than somebody with an iq of 180 or whatever.

It all depends on what you view knowledge as.

And surely the answer is not very if you DO actually pay to be told how intelligent you are.
