But peasants, man... what if they decided to form a mob and overrun your shoulders? Nah. All you need is a simple saftey device that prevents the heat ray and heat seeking missles from firing at the same time. Then, right, you could heat-ray a hole in your foe's SkyShipOfDOOOM, and send the missles right to it while the edges were still glowing. That would really put a crimp on your foe's day.

Don't "Duh" us. Freeze-rays are for smaller battles, like when you have to fight a foe who's humansized and you're humansized. Big sky battles where you fly in clouds need heat rays.

These are all good suggestions, particularly the heat seeking missile/heat ray problem. Timing is all important in combat but that's what we all go to FFITS (Fighting Friends In The Sky)college, right? Freeze rays should not be dismissed over heat rays as a major weapon, (I carry a small freeze blaster with me at all times) but when we designed our robot we took into consideration the chloroflouracarbons needed to power such a ray. As we all know these are amongst the most harmful of greenhouse gasses and a direct hit on the freeze unit of a full size FFITS could cause untold environmental damage.

Blue laser is best with orange heat ray, agreed.

Freeze rays make it so the jet engines don't work right, so they fall out of the sky. Plus, you can use it to make giant-sized hailstones to pummel the enemy and breach their armor. And giant ice javelins.

Listen, i am going to be on robot wars, runce & twart have been messing with this thread. I will be on T.V April 22nd, i think!
Having some problems with my digital camera, but a friend is fixing it as i speak. Anyway will have an image of the machine in a couple of days. It looks ace, i'm really pleased i think i've outdone myself this time. Barbelith should be well represented if the paint stays on!!

If anyone still wants to come, i'm getting 5 passes sent to my house this week, don't have any space in our van, but i'll post the travel details up asap.

I don't think people are trolling your thread per-se...it is in the Convo where stuff like hijacking threads to discuss giant robot armament is to be expected (to a degree). If you're going to invite people to see your title bout, why not start a thread in the Gathering and point people to it from here? Given the location and the opportunity to paint big Barbelith banners and the like there's bound to be some serious takers.
