I think I've seen one of those about...but the guarana I'm craving is actually the bright pink fizzy drink that we used to get in Brazil. Tasted of chewing gum and was guaranteed to make you bounce off walls. Mmm.

Grey Area: Ah, I see. You shoulod be able to pick up the active ingredient from a healthfood store, tho' the pink bubblegum componant may be lacking.

BiP: I'm good... just sold another story. Youse?

I have Rioja (an inch left in the bottle now) but I HAVE NO PIE! Life is cruel.

Not even a little tiny baby pie. *sigh*

I do, however, have a chickken tikka filled pitta bread and a packet of Nisha's Bombay Mix. Hog time... Crunch crunch crunch!

mmmm, empanadas:

Empanar is Spanish for "to bake in pastry," and these Mexican and Spanish specialties are usually single-serving turnovers with a pastry crust and savory meat-and-vegetable filling. They can also be filled with fruit and served as dessert. Empanadas range in size from the huge empanada gallega , large enough to feed an entire family, to empanaditas — tiny, ravioli-size pastries.

Sound lush, especially the fruit versions, are they much different to English pie?

Xoc. I hate you. And your Rioja.

but not even an empanandita to your name?

ha. ha. ha.

MC: that's fab, who to?

I'm bleh, mainly i think due to insomnia/sleeping patterns buggeration.

Not so different, just sort of flatter You get little bitesized pasties or big square ones. They're not very big on the fruit ones here -- mostly it's tuna, meat or poultry.

A webzine called Fables. They bought a poem off me too.

Sorry to hear you're feeling bleh.

MC: just a bit lifeless, am hoping sorting out sleeping patterns will help. Also need to get through next couple of weeks of zero cash. That aint' helping.

Keggers: next time someone offers me a steak(as per the 'unwanted' list), I'll pass it on. Deal?

(total tangent but I thought I'd ask) Apart from moisturiser, does anyone have a suggestion on how to treat a really bad wind/sunburn? I sat out in the sun too long on Sunday and now my face both feels and looks like it's been done over with a belt-sander.

sorry, no sunburn ideas.

Keggers, er, how about 'excellent vegetarian food'? Diamonds? Cute bois?

Mmmm, or cauliflower cheese cornish pasties, which do exist, and are now available in My Town. Yum yum.

Buy an Aloe Vera plant and use that on your burns

Grey Area: aloe vera, as fresh and unprocessed as you can get it. Vaseline will help protect your skin and keep it moist, but you'll look very greasy so go easy on it.

Grey Area

Thank-you...if I can get fresh ALoe leaves, do I pop them in a blender and smear on face, or lay on face whole? I might try the vaseline thing when I go to bed tonight...might stop me looking like The Thing in the morning.

MC. it's self-inflicted, as overspent last month, but it's coz i have such tight margins. And I'm doing a cleaning job/borrowing some cash tomorrow, so things will ease a bit. But cheers, I know you know this one.

But no Rioja and pie for me.

Keggers, how about next time someone offers you Rioja? are you a fan?

It's a sort of cactusy thing, G.A. -- you cut open the leaves and scoop out the stuff inside, then rub it on your skin.

You scoop it out and smear it on. Got it. Now all I have to do is find an Aloe Vera plant.

Looking like I do it's hard enough coming into the office, let alone to venture to the local shopping centre. But I'll get someone to pop down to the chemist for me tomorrow...this sunburn in March thing was amusing for a day, now it's just irritating.

Re: sunburn. Anti-histamines will reduce the pain and swelling of sunburn. I find that taking the normal amount (eg, however many they say to take for hayfever/allergies) works for me. Obviously be careful of the drowsy-making ones.

GA you can buy it from health food shops.

Keggers. It's not very nice, you probably wouldn't like it...

Barbelith looks like a Marx brothers film occasionally invaded by the Three Stooges. In fact, make that the even more unfunny Hanna-Barbera ‘Robotic Stooges’, which only I remember.
