9:54pm... I just got back from seeing Once Upon A Time in Mexico. Liked it all except for Ricky Matrin.
Who's around? Whats on second. How?..Third base!

We should be on Roman numeral IV. III if we don't count the "Lame Shift" thread as a Late shift.

I'm just sitting here readin' for school tomorrow. How's your fine evenin' Keggers?

9:25 here, now.

To live and die in central america. Ooooo. The sexy latin faerie-tale! My drug/booze-rattled mind had forgotten about it, cause no one I know has spoken of it. (Though I did recently see Frida.)

Crashing soon, to avoid calling in again, tomorrow. I have tequila-lime pork drying in my bachelor oven.

Wishing for a tower and a bell to play with. ALL's well.

12.30 in the afternoon here. Its not really the late shift at all, its the lunch break...

I've only one more long day before my sordid Sydney getaway!!!!

You're welcome, Keggers. It's not overly exciting, but it does beat the jerky and Bugles I had last night.

Having difficulty telling the difference between preparing for winter and depression-induced binging. I imagine a bit of both.

I've been taken by baking meats, recently. Easy and feels productive if one has the patience and time.

I assume the lack of comment on Once Upon a Time, Mexico stylee implies a bit of luster also lacked? Or no?

Dude, I'm so jealous. By the time you're back from your vacation, it'll probably be snowing in my latitude.

No lack of lustre.. I loved that film. Action and bittersweet sadness... beauty. A definite buy when it comes on dvd.

So good to hear you say that, Kegboy. I must admit that though I know naught about its plot or point, I was in love with this film since I saw the cardboard standup.

And the pork is my payoff for not having seen it, tonight. Nyah.

I saw Swimming Pool last night, which I enjoyed thoroughly. I always love going to films where you have no idea about the film apart from the title.

Yeah... I still havent seen El MAriachi but after seeing Desperado I knew I'd be going to any sequel.

I've not seen Swimming Pool. The only thing I know about it is stars Jessica Paree who is from my town (actually the big town across the bridge but its all the same.

Haven't heard of Swimming Pool. Is it latin-esque, as well?

Best of all on your trip, Fool.

Swimming Pool is not latin-esque. The basic premise is an english writer goes to her publishers country house in France to overcome her writers block. Its really good. I feel the need to disect the movie in a very david lynch sort of way...

Hey Maz!
I cant speak for anybody else but as far as Im concerned its going OK.
I have a wedding to go to tomorrow that I dont want to, but its a friends so Im gonna get my ass into a suit and go all smiles and huggles. Its going to be a medieval wedding so that should be cute.

I dig theme weddings/parties. Depending on the theme, they usually have mead. Have you got a theme costume?

Mazarine
01:24 / 17.10.03
Or suit, rather?

Saint Keggers
01:25 / 17.10.03
No, its only going to be the wedding party in costume. I will be in a suit. Thats a costume for me.

I want a Bollywood themed wedding.

I went to see my friend who was working, while I was onn a break today. He took down my bday present- a mini bombay dreams style fountain that squirts higher when u play it music and flashes multi-coloured lights. Its so fabulously tacky. I love it.

A Bollywood wedding! I think that might be the best idea I've ever heard!

I think it is a grand idea too, Maz. I am just old, tired and jaded. Nevermind me.

I am off to work, to my little sanctuary.

Thank you, good night.

Hello one and all. A brief appearance; I've just watched Later (REM were pretty good, as were British Sea Power) and so it's time for bed. Tomorrow I've got Literary Festival fun that I booked ages ago; a workshop on writing for journalism in the morning, and John Boorman talking about his autobiography in the evening. Quite knackered, really.

I found Once Upon A Time In Mexico very disappointing - far too much editing, to the point of confusion. The handcuffed-swing sequence was a nice action sequence, but the film was so... unfocused and patchwork. El Mariachi's wonderful - very simple, very focused, lovely arc. Once Upon A Time in Mexico is all over the shop. Shame, that.

And Kegboy! That's not Ricky Martin, It's Enrique!

I am just old, tired and jaded.

I don't believe any of that but only because I'm older, tireder and more of valuable commodity in China than you are, lovely Trix.

So what is it to be:
a) Mothman Prophecies on dvd (brother-in-law recommended it but, then again, he did marry my sister so I don't know what that says for his discernment)?
b) Get my party frock on a go clubbing down the road?
c) Aimless and unsatisfactory surfing with some Denzel Washington movie blithering on in the background?
d) Give up and go to bed because the world sleepeth, I am very pissed, and Ganesh looks particularly fine with his freshly shorn TinTin cut.

If I go to bed now I might get up betimes in the morning and go to Tate Modern to see the Eliasson Weather exhibit.

I vote D, but I always vote in favor of amorous snuggles.
