I don't think they're by necessity in his mind. All the X-Men, save Xavier, can easily be considered dead or at least severely out of comission to Erik. What exactly the Fantastic Four, Avengers, and the rest of the X-Peeps are/were up to, one can only guess. But the shattered skyline on the cover of 150 could easily be a post 10/1 Manhattan. With Promethea #27 and now this book, walking to work in Manhattan has just gotten a lot more unsettling.
It's nice to see, though, that the main Erik can still kick the Ultimate Version's ass completely. If this is for real, and I'm betting it is, then I can't wait to see the X-Men winding their way through a Manhattan that's a cross between Inferno and the New Tokyo Empire.
These pages also seem to point decidedly against the notion that Erik had anything to do with Genosha. In fact, his memorial issue can now be seen as a bit of a warning. "You humans have really asked for it this time. I'm serious."
I'm going to go stare at those pages some more. |
