It's like one of those conversations when the two of you are hinting around something and taking it for granted in such a way as to make your whole conversation all multi-layered in an enjoyable-yet-scary, portentous, intimate way. And then they go away and you realize that they didn't know that thing at all and you've just made a complete idiot of yourself.
It's not being able to remember quite how the song Bells For Her goes because a junkie ex-housemate stole your Tori Amos CDs, but being sure it sums up your life, but for some reason Kazaa won't let you download it and check. So instead of listening to it and having a few minutes of cathartically intense, well-soundtracked, beautifully choreographed, satisfying, unhappiness, you just go to bed feeling unsettled. |
