Ah, Billion Dollar Brain. Which was quite fun and interesting in its way, and very Bond... but very un-Harry-Palmer.
KM: bit unsubtle humour, perhaps? Might be interesting in a Year One idea to, say, establish protocol differently ie Bond tries using everything he's ever been taught by MI6, but actually discovers his Cambridge-smarm and excessive libido is a far more useful tool... or perhaps HE's the one seduced, and then sees how he can turn things to his advantage.
And maybe the first one has a bizarre kind of death-wish, for some plot device you can invent, and that's why he leaves hauling ass til the last minute. And then all the subsequent ones never understood the first one's motivations, and just thought the behaviour went with the part... |
