Strange Machine Vs The Virus with Shoes
23:48 / 09.11.02
So, confess, who did you lust after in those hormone fuelled teenage years? Celebrity and real life?

Betty Boo (who did the do), Nenah Cherry, Alex, Joanne and Caroline.

Linus Dunce
23:59 / 09.11.02
Well, pretty much anybody -- they were hormone-fuelled years. But Kate Bush, obviously. And Dana who lived next door.

Warewullf
00:13 / 10.11.02
My history teacher, Des, and Tony Stamp from The Bill. A love which continues to this day.

Laughing
01:41 / 10.11.02
Jewel, and both of her amazing talents. (Both singing and songwriting, what did you think I meant?)

Oh, and Noah Wyle from ER, a tender lust which endures to this day.

Tryphena Absent
02:00 / 10.11.02
I used to have a crush on Abby from ER and Katharine Hepburn and Dream (shut up I know he's a picture!) and a tall boy with blond hair a few years above me (never knew his name).

Strange Machine Vs The Virus with Shoes
02:00 / 10.11.02
Teachers. Big time crush fixations. Miss Henderson and Miss Armbrister were both objects of much desire, as was Mrs Sharpe in a kinky sort of way.

STOATIE LIEKS CHOCOLATE MILK
02:03 / 10.11.02
Madonna in trashy '80s mode. Actually, anyone in trashy '80s mode. And Princess Leia, only that one never really went away.

Strange Machine Vs The Virus with Shoes
02:18 / 10.11.02
How could I forget princess Leia?

Ah, I was much younger then and my love for her was pure (although return of the jedi???). Your showing your age Stoatie.

telyn
02:40 / 10.11.02
Sadly... my music teacher.
And a definite appreciation for that Morpheus fella.
Hmm similarities... neither character particularly sensible...

Saint Keggers
02:45 / 10.11.02
Lynda Carter as Wonder Woman. To this day I still have a thing for women in bulletproof wristbands who drive around in invisble jets.

Cliff and Ferry Street
12:23 / 10.11.02
I was powerfully drawn to about 70-80% of the mostly-handsome and always extraordinary young men a year above me in school. And a couple of the girls, as well. And the guy who taught Am. lit. to the 12th form and smelled really good. And the headmaster.

Then later, in the last few years of high school, I secretly lusted after a few film directors who I thought were geniuses. (Oh how the mighty have fallen...)

And finally, there was Umberto Eco, who I still believe is all that.

Oh, and rock stars! How could I forget the rock stars! I dare anyone to say they never crushed over Jimi Hendrix just a bit*. Or Lenny Kravitz even.

*They don't have to be alive to be appealing. As sick as that does sound.

Ariadne
12:28 / 10.11.02
Sting, Boy George, and Dave Bartram.

What do you mean, who's Dave Bartram? He was the singer in Shawaddywaddy of course. And I adored him.

Mourne Kransky
12:42 / 10.11.02
I am ashamed to say that I too once hungered, explicably, for Sting. *shudders* Was well past my teens by then though.

Tenn idols /lust objects were David Bowie, Brian Eno, Terence Stamp (in Teorema, mmmm), Dirk Bogarde, Sidney Poitier, Spencer Tracy (whom my history teacher strongly resembled), Murray Head, my High School PE teacher - so many men, so many hormones surging within...

Lea-side
13:24 / 10.11.02
Louise Wener, for some bizarre reason. As a teenager my walls were plastered with britpop pin-ups.
-Justine Frischman,
-Jarvis Cocker,
-Damon in eyeliner,
-Brett Anderson,
-and one woman who im still madly in love with - Lauren Laverne!

Baz Auckland
13:33 / 10.11.02
Unfortunately, every female I knew that I wasn't related to. Also Tori Amos.

Mazarine
14:05 / 10.11.02
Oh, I was totally gonna marry Kyle MacLachlan, though that was more of a pre-teen crush while Twin Peaks was still on.

pointless and uncalled for
15:45 / 10.11.02
After an early age viewing of Dangerous Liasons, I quickly developed a crush on Uma Thurman and then through my sisters dance magazine followed an unhealthy interest in Darcy Bussell. I'd like to add that I had a crush on her before she was cool.
Beyond that there was always the passing fancies of the cast of Neighbours and the nubile hosts of Saterday morning TV.

Shortfatdyke
15:52 / 10.11.02
I had a big thing for the deputy head teacher at my school. She didn't like me very much, kept telling me off for having spikey hair. Got a crush for a while on my doctor - a big, butch, German woman who did acupuncture on me. One day I was walking to school and she drove up and demanded I get in the car. I did, of course, melt and comply. Think this is where I came out as a submissive.

But as for famous people, there were two - Anne Bancroft and Catherine of Aragon.

Linus Dunce
16:08 / 10.11.02
Lotta people giving away their ages here. Except SFD. Unless she's an immortal.

Shortfatdyke
17:56 / 10.11.02
Unfortunately not immortal (as far as I know). I am 35 1/2. Older and wiser than most of you lot! (I wish...)

Loomis
18:35 / 10.11.02
Hmm, it wasn't even that long ago and I'm struggling to remember. Must have blocked it out. Besides those feisty girls from the girl's schools denating teams whom I'd see once a year, let's see.

Angie Hart from Frente! C'mon you antipodeans, you know what I mean.

And what about Allie Sheedy? Brat pack movies, love it.

Spatula Clarke
18:55 / 10.11.02
Famous people? Always was and probably always will be Joan Greenwood. I was introduced to those Ealing comedies at an early age, and seeing Greenwood in Kind Hearts and Coronets was one of the first times I really understood that some people are designed by a whole higher level of Creation than the rest of us.

The Return Of Rothkoid
20:38 / 10.11.02
PJ Harvey. And still it persists. Oho yes. As does the Jennifer Connelly deesire I had. Curse you, Labyrinth. I don't think I was even a teen then...

Gee, predictable? Although PJ was later teens, I suppose.

Loomis: Angie Hart? Eugh. Too much quirk for me to handle. Then again, I'd not realised the power of Quirk by that time. Hm. Still, I do recall being sent a copy of that Juice (careful, it's not put out by Raymond Publications) that she was nude on the front of... ahem.

Zocher: Terence Stamp: strangely, I think he's more attractive now than in his Toby Zammitt days...

The Strobe
23:02 / 10.11.02
Jennifer Connolly should be a fucking given, man.

Nothing very serious on the celeb front. Claire Skinner, definitely, after seeing her as Desdemona (NT, probably around 98, iirc). And being generally fascinated with her. Which persisted into her TV career. And worryingly, also, Phillippa Forester. And not just on Robot Wars, more worryingly. And, as Janina said, Abby Lockhart. Jeez. These are all so late-teens... I'm sure there were more, but I really can't remember very well.

In life? Oh, one of my teachers. For far too long and far too deeply. And I've thought about it far too much, and we're not going there tonight.

Catjerome
00:38 / 11.11.02
My ballroom dancing instructor. The dancing-with-hips-touching thing was quite welcome!

Also David Duchovney, back when the X-Files just revving up.

Fist Fun
13:08 / 11.11.02
Eric Cantona. Still does to be truthful. He will be mine, oh yes...

Lilith Myth
14:07 / 11.11.02
Some little-known actor called Simon Gipps Kent. Although, technically, I wasn't a teenager; I think I was about eight. I wuvved him.

rizla mission
14:35 / 11.11.02
I'm too young for this thread ferchrisake, mine are all still going on..

Shortfatdyke
15:16 / 11.11.02
Just remembered that my late teenage years were driven by lust for Jill Gasgoine, who played a detective in The Gentle Touch. Pretty cliched stuff, I know, but I remember reading an interview with her and when she said that if a man raped her she'd bite his dick off I lost my heart to her completely.

The Strobe
17:16 / 11.11.02
Ones I forgot: renaissance when I was around 14-15 (to coincide with TV repeats) of the infatuation with Felicity Kendal in The Good Life that should never leave anyone. (And she reminds me of aforementioned teacher). But yes. Barbara Good. Yes, she was.

And also, as I stopped being a teenage recently, I think I can count Rachel Griffiths. And I don't even need to explain that one...

that
17:29 / 11.11.02
Oscar Wilde. Nicholas Rowe (played Holmes in 'The Young Sherlock Holmes' film) - mostly because he kind of looked like Oscar Wilde. A girl called Lisa in my class at school. Bono from U2, circa 'New Year's Day'. Trent Reznor. Robert Smith. The original Undertaker from the WWF.

Someone Else
18:39 / 11.11.02
Gemma Ramsay in 'Neighbours'. And on days when the hormones were saturating my trousers and cerebellum, Madge Ramsay in 'Neighbours'. And Bouncer.

the Fool
20:09 / 11.11.02
And on days when the hormones were saturating my trousers and cerebellum, Madge Ramsay in 'Neighbours'. And Bouncer.

That must be a near fatal saturation level of hormones, I mean, I can understand bouncer (the fine pup that he was) but Madge??? Its almost Necrophilia!!!

gridley
20:30 / 11.11.02
Lucy!!!!

Oh, god, how I crushed on Lucy. I couldn't sleep. I stopped eating. I sat in my room in the dark, crying, and listened to Air Supply! AIR FUCKING SUPPLY!!! "Lost in love and I don't know much..."

What could she have possibly done to bewitch me so at such a tender age? I just don't know. But she was literally all I could think about.

No celebrity came close to the crush I had on Lucy, but I think I started crushing on Cheryl Ladd, then moved on to Kitty Pryde, then to Lucy....

Mourne Kransky
20:40 / 11.11.02
Can sure understand Eric Cantona, Buk, but I was in m thirties before he hit these shores I think. We even named our legendary singing cat after him.

The classiest crush has to be sfd's though, Catherine of Aragon! The Shadow of the Pomegranate! And beautifully played by Kathy Burke in Elizabeth, no? Grrr, Kathy Burke could turn a gayboy...
