Massive hugs, dude. My suggestion is to send me your address so we can start demonstrating platonic love with little disc gifts across the ocean. It's wonderful when you get parcels through your door.

Other suggestions:

- The Flaming Lips tend to help me out when I'm feeling low, escpecially their last four records.

- The Hudsucker Proxy: impossible to watch without being in hysterics all the way through. "He'sa sucha nica man, I givea him the double stitcha anyway."

- exp's laughable Italian accent, even when he writes.

- More Simpsons ideas: attach a tent to your open fridge, and live in it. "I got the idea when I realised the refridgerator was cold."

- Insane projects always help me, and divert my attention better than most other things. Building a cool percussive arsenal from stuff you get in junk yards? Obsessively making field recordings of everything you can, and meticulously cataloguing them? Keeping a dream journal with the intention of learning to go induce lucid states (actually an extremely good idea)?

Yeah, what exp said. Crazy antics and avant garde fooling always cheer you up (for a few hours).

Or listen to Brighteyes - he makes being suicidally depressed sound like such a laugh!

huge huge hugs, Rothkoid. I'm loathe to say you taught me everything I know, but you taught me a helluva lot Sorry to hear you're feeling so shit.

Personally, I find suicidal depression the perfect time to write a sould-searching novel. After you've got all the angst-ridden teenage poetry out of the way, of course.

Love ya, baby.

I know you're upset right now, so I'll forget what you said about Mingus. Especially since you got me into him ...

Well you don't need us to tell you you're the man. But just in case you do, you are.

Secret weapon? I am intrigued.

At work. Lump on forehead. Slightly quizzical. Feeling a little better thanks to you kind folk, but generally tending towards the negatives.

I bought the 2CD ABBA best-of to try and cheese and jolly me up

Do I even have to say it? Your first mistake, cocksmoker!

Aw, Roth. I almost know the feeling - last night I was listening to the sound of my own sniffles in a very empty apartment, and ended up calling my grandmother and my favourite prof. It did a world of good to call up some people with whom my relationship is less complicated, rather than call my friends. It took me out of REM and Tori Amos (big time high school nostalgia aarrgh) and back into kraut rock. Thank god. Stay away from Tori Amos and covers of Joni Mitchell. And huggles. Lots of 'em. Love ya, you wizened old hag... (because that just sounded so coool!)
