Looks like the divination queue is clear, so I'll put up a request:

My next big project is to work on my poor financial skills--if I drew the "Earth" chip in my local Invisibles cell, we'd end up paying a lot of late fees. I want to improve my attitude and effectiveness regarding "grown-up" stuff, and part of that is going to be a magickal undertaking since much of the root of the problem is psychological.

I'd like some divinatory advice on how to go about this, as well as the usual pre-SoI rigamarole of hidden strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, threats, etc.

(Is that too much? More info needed?)

Oh, so I finally got that chart for the twins, by the way. Funny thing that, it was printed in a magazine. Ok, so it was for midnight so its 1-2 minutes off, but I think that's close enough. I don't know too much about how to read it in great detail, but one thing stood out pretty clearly: Mars and Venus were within 1 degree conjunction in scorpio. That says much

Hunterwolf- the spread seemed to focus on her rather than you, or perhaps your projection onto her- or it's possible it was about the new girl. Of course it could just be wrong, it does happen- but I've found readings tend to make more sense when you look back on them. Would the reading match your new flame?

I honestly can't figure out how the reading applies to the girl (not the new flame but the first, who the reading was about). Maybe it was just how she was feeling at the time but things in her life rapidly changed 24 hours later or something. I did try Terese again - I don't think I'll ever hear from her, unless I randomly run into her or something in the future. I'll chime in if it makes more sense as time goes on. Thanks again!

I know I'm not really familiar with anyone on the board yet, but I'd like to request a divination.

I do tarot readings for other people and am usually fairly accurate, but when I try and do my own readings I dont get much, if any insight.

Basically I've been in a huge rut the past two years, and am trying to put the pieces of my shattered life back together. I'm curious about the job-front, school-front, etc....Possibly just a general reading.

At this point anything would help.

Urgh. I'm in a situation of "having caught the car I was chasing" - I have a date with a gentleman I met a week ago, and I'm scared shitless because there's just so many qualities I want, all present in this particular package... (Now, this was something of a happenstance meeting in that I didn't do any ritual asking for a lover to fall into my lap, but I've been thinking about dating and meeting new people, and thinking that it might be nice to be partnered again...)

I grabbed my cards, did a reading with the usual three questions:

What was I looking for when I wished to meet somebody?

Strength: also equals lust
8 of cups: dissapointment (aw crap)
Balance/Justice: we all get what we deserve, not always what we desire

8 of cups also means moving on. If you're getting over someone, Iszabelle, you need to bear that in mind for the future- I like to think the symbolism shows someone leaving a stable (but ended) situation behind and progressing to the next- compare to the 5 of cups, in which the figure stands rather than travels, and some of the cups are spilt. The eight is benign in my opinion, and shows the end of one relationship and the openness to begin another- especially influenced by Justice, which shows getting what you deserve (which I suspect is happiness and new love, but I don't know what you deserve

)
Strength and the 10 of cups are both positive, lucky cards, and I would say the reading as a whole is extremely positive- cups and major arcana in a reading about love has got to be a good sign, if they're all beneficial cards (which they are).
Have a great time, bear in mind you're moving on- I think as long as you don't dwell on the past too much you'll have fun, and if he's indicated by Strength he's probably a great chap to date. Good luck!

Well, we had a lovely evening with good food and surprisingly deep conversations over stout, but that Eight of Cups is looking pretty important (especially in the position of what to watch for in the future).

He's much more into magick than I'd originally thought, and I get the feeling that our meeting is the end result of a (maybe unconscious?) working of his. I've also got the feeling that he's looking for a fairly serious romance... Luckily he's the sort that won't take it amiss if I ask bluntly about his intents, desires, and "plans" for me.

Had a very intense day yesterday. I by chance heard of something I really wanted on ebay. A t-shirt with a very cool design (I have something verging on fetish for t-shirts). AND it was a piece of rare memrobelia(sp?) AND it didn't say what it was anywhere, no branding (which I hate). I'm not going to say *exactly* what it was (you'll see why in a moment).

I got so utterly wound up bidding for it I did a 3 card spread, mostly out of interest as I'm not usually so passionate.

Wheel of Fortune | Ace of Wands | 9 of Pentacles

Wheel of fortune - the chance finding it was available. Also the person selling it needed the money, so a degree of "cycle", the item passing on due to their life changing.

Ace of wands - I wasn't sure, except maybe that it was generating a huge emotional/adrenalin charge in me (very unfocused).

Interestingly "9 of Pentacles" is "gain" in the thoth deck. Go me, I think.

MANY synchronisities to the Ace; tv show someone thinks that someone else called them a "lion" (living creature linked to fire), a friend changed their username to "I see you brought the fire" (actually a reference to poi, but still), and a couple of others I forgot.

Auction closed at 5am.

Surfice to say that I was totally outbid ($157) which I could have afforded but was crazy money for a fairly normal short sleeve t-shirt.

I was fairly calm and exausted, all burned out but still a dull glow of passion. My reaction was actually; shit I almost spend 100 quid on a t-shirt which I could just as easily go down the road and have printed for next to nothing.... wait a minute...!!!

So I'll spend the money on having the design printed on some shirts, which means I can have one and give some to friends for xmas. Which is why I didn't say what the shirt was as it's probably what set(h) and Quantum will get for christmas.

Looking at the 9 of pentacles more it's also "self-reliance" and "restraint" which works nicely with losing the auction but getting similar to what I want via other means. So I've added "sticking to your decided limit in an auction" to the meanings for that card.

You know, it was probably a bootleg, from someone else who could have wandered down the street and printed one off for next to nothing, and then sold it on ebay for $157. If you're looking for the message of gain in there, I'd think that's it.
