Just read her latest book (Just Cause; Freedom, Identity and Rights), justabout to embark on one of her earlier ones.

Anyone know anything about her? Like her? Hate her?

I enjoyed Just Cause a lot, and thought it was kind of productive - particularly in encouraging dialogue between my Inner Liberal and my Inner Radical - but there was a good critique (published in the book) by Richard Posner, that she concentrates too much on creating a consistent/coherent philosophical framework and not enough on the 'concrete results' of the legal frameworks she proposes.

Also, I don't know enough about US law to follow her in some places. Hell, I don't know enough about *British* law...

And I'm not that keen on her prose style.

Attended a talk she did about 5 years ago. Shrewd cookie. As far as I can recall she was advocating that we should distinguish between having children and having legal responsibility for them. We should not automatically assume that we should be parents. Something like that anyway. Always meant to get round to reading her stuff but never did. Mind you now that you have reminded me I might just do that.
